Assuming you want to upgrade the base firmware, first reflash the original recovery using my previous V2.4/2.5 Windows installer. Then reboot and choose to upgrade to 1.2.4 when FiiO says it's found a new update. Once done, reinstall TWRP using the same method above, then install V3 kernel.

This way you don't need to wipe your installation.

PM me if you need more detailed instructions.

Does FiiO link work w/the X5iii ? Are we now able to control the DAP from the app on our phone w/link ? I do however see that you would have to give up using viper if updated to the most recent versions of fiio music and fiio firmware ? That may be a show stopper for me for now, but if someone can comment on the FiiO link working on the X5 as it would be nice to control the player via bluetooth app.

I hope this all works out for you.
Many thanks for the support!
I've never done business with any vendors on AliExpress, and based on your experience
Everything goes to the fact that I myself will not order anything more there. If the official shop with a world name is engaged in a deceit, what are simple sellers doing ???

I have the same problem as people on 4PDA http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=825351&st=7640
after installing V3 version 2016 kernel (faster) and kernel command to reboot, the boot will run and display will remain without image and message. Backlight only. After about 10 minutes, massive overheating began, after 6 attempts it was turned off followed by recovery from the TWRP backup. My specialty was that it did not respond to the connection to the PC and flash to 1.2.1. It was only after the TWRP was restored that everything went right. Uff, I still have 1/2 Becher liqueur.
I will try even a weaker version of 1416 on completely empty firmware 1.2.4 without SuperSu, only TWRP for backup and recovery

If you get reboot issues you'll need to install the 1416MHz version.

There will be an intermediate 1752MHz version released shortly to get you as close to the higher frequencies as possible.

I just finished with kernel v3 1416. Absolutely smooth. System speed more than sufficient. I still have to wait for the sound, I dug FiiO Music and Google play, all FiiO diagnostic waste, etc. for sure.
My player is a version of Europe SN 60030228730802. I haven't had a problem with a faster kernel yet. About device - NB L211a.
Probably the Eastern European version, as usual. The price is the same, the bowels a little weaker

Reporting success on Fidelizer 1.2.4 with 3.0 kernel (1896 MHz)

Prompts for reboot worked, and optimization prompt after 2nd reboot were visible.

SuperSU is installed as well as titanium backup, with no lockups or reboots yet.

Installed 3.0 via TWRP and I'm still getting a "fail" although the kernel shows up in "About Device." It did not automatically reboot.

I've attached the error message. Note: I was forced to place the zip folder in the main drive as TWRP won't recognize any data in the external drive.

???

Is there any definitive way other than "about device" to determine success?

I remember watching TWRP and mine did not have any errors during the kernel installation.

But I didn't install it onto an existing custom kernel, I went back to 1.2.1 then fidelizer 1.2.4, after that the usual steps.

I don't know which version of the kernel you might have come from, though, in about device there will always be something regarding the jkbuha kernel once you use the TWRP installer tool on windows.
So what kernel version is under about device ?

During the process it appears to load and scroll but as the attachment illustrates, it doesn't complete successfully. I was wondering if installing from the internal drive was causing an issue. Could it be TWRP, especially since it doesn't recognize any files on the SD drive?

I install it from the downloads folder on the internal sd drive. I just keep my sd cards ejected through the whole process in installing firmware and stuff as precaution.
Have you tried going back into recovery to attempt it again?
That is the kernel version you should be seeing.

Yeah, I do it similarly as you. Tried a second time with same result.

This may be a problem. TWRP may not understand the name of the file. Use the first download and check md5

Great success, great improvement DLNA - foobar UPnP is near the speed of reading from the SD card. Clean, dynamic sound, powerful and precise bass. Maximum satisfaction, I'm at the bottom of the performance.
second times i burned the kernel V3 1416 to full TWRP backup fw 1.2.4 and no problems

full TWRP backup fw 1.2.4?? do you mean we can first flash fw 1.2.4 and do a backup from TWRP? Then in the future, we don't need to install fw1.2.4 from scratch (which will result in hacing TWRP removed) again?
