Yes, it would be brilliant if we could make a m3u playlist from our source library on our laptops using any app. like media monkey, iTunes, poweramp, or whatever then put that playlist on the X5 (internal or SD) and then ask the Fiio player to scan that file against the index it (presumably) made when scanning the music files. That way, we can create fancy playlists from our source, turn them into simple fixed m3u files, and let the Fiio player find and index the songs from its on board library even if songA is MP3 on internal memory, songB is FLAC on SD1, and songC is AIFF/ALAC on SD2 etc. etc. At the moment, all of this has to be done manually song by song or semi-manually using m3u dropper.Dear friend,
Imported playlists? Do you mean to scan the songs from the .m3u playlist instead of scanning the folders?
Best regards
I know Fiio can handle playlists with songs scattered across the 3 memory locations e.g. Favourites and Recently added. So, this would extend that capability.
This would give us a very useful feature with great benefits to those of us who like to listen to only a selection of tunes. For example, I might want to listen to 250 songs that I have rated 5* and genre is Rock or I might want 100 songs that I've tagged Easy Listening. Then, I just need to put a copy of that playlist on my Fiio and scan it. Brilliant.
I would not be surprised if the pareto principle applied to lots of other users too, as I know I listen mostly to about 2000 songs out of 10,000 and have the same 2000 on lots of different playlists in different combinations. Other times I just select an artist / album or use Shuffle.
