Exactly the same problem...only i cant install on the 2gb storage...it is clear it go wrong after shut down or restart...and i have a wifi disconnection problem.... the problems persist on 1.1.5 - iam very dissapointed, i use spotify daily....

The Spotify issue is an issue with that app, so I suggest you lodge a support ticket with them.

As for wifi, as has been mentioned a few times you need to turn on 'Keep on WiFi during sleep's in the advanced wifi options.

Lol. I guess it was a waste. The one thing I notice with the PB3 is a quieter background and lots of extra power, but probably not necessary.

Sorry. Good picture though! I've been wanting to output from the X5iii balanced into 2 x A5 for kicks, which would be a hefty stack, but still somewhat portable (transportable) and be able to power most anything in Balanced at that point.

Forget what I said about Spotify. I normally leave my X5III powered on and it hasn't lost offline tracks in over 6 weeks, but due to others having issues I turned it off this morning at 8am then powered it up again at 11am and even though I didn't get asked to login to Spotify all the offline tracks were lost even though the space is still taken up on my internal NAND storage memory where I store Spotify tracks (not even on the SD cards) that normally has ~9GB left after syncing 16GB of tracks.

I think I found the reason for Spotify deleting my offline tracks. It's not a X5III issue, it seems to be more of an Android issue in general. People with Android phones do complain about losing their offline tracks in the Spotify forums.

I noticed that Spotify deletes my offline tracks if the app is open when the X5III shuts down/reboots. I was losing tracks because I set my "idle power-off" timer to 15 minutes, meaning that if no music was played on the X5III for 15 minutes, it would shut down. If I'd just listened to a song on Spotify, then left my X5III alone for 15 minutes, then my X5III would power off. Upon starting up my X5III again, my music would be gone. I've tried replicating the problem several times and Spotify wipes my offline tracks each time.

tl;dr Try closing the Spotify app before shutting down/rebooting your X5III. Also, turn off the "idle power-off" setting since if it kicks in when your Spotify app is open, it'll wipe your offline tracks.

I think the reason this hasn't been much of an issue previously is because most people don't shut down their phone, and when they do it's usually because it running slow or hot and they have already closed every app already!

Yeah, I think so too! This Android issue is just more obvious on a DAP that is regularly powered on/off, compared to a phone which for most people will be on 24/7.

Please stop blaming FiiO for the Spotify offline issue. It's a well known issue since months and Spotify does not solve it.

Please read here -> Offline Songs Disappear

A user posted the following:
This solved my problem and I have been going on strong for 5 months now.
In short, deleted everything from all devices and deleted the supported
devices from the Spotify page.
In the end I had 0 devices connected.
Then I installed it on my smartphone, logged in and stored all the lists.
Then I did the same on my iPod and my tablet.
That's it ....

A lot of work as they should have an Offline save mode which stores all the
playlists you store offline instead of selecting each and everyone by hand.
That makes sense to me.

I don't loose offline content, even if I switch X5 off while playing a Spotify offline song.
When I restart X5 and open Spotify, I can continue playing exactly where I switched it off.

I have Spotify installed on two devices only ...

Thanks for replying. That firstly just takes me back to the screen with the artwork in small with the 3 buttons below that allow favourites, recently played and the folder view to be selected. Pressing back from here again just asks if you want to exit the application.

I should probably add a screenshot to explain it better.

Dear robbobkirky,

Just want to confirm, did you enter the certain album before entering the now playing interface? If not, the back icon will lead you to the main interface instead.

Best regards

@FiiO
How hard would it be to add a mono/Stereo switch to the player?
Dear DeLaw,

Maybe you can try to find a converter to see whether it helps? But I think mono may not sound as good as Stereo.

Best regards

I don't have a micro usb male to micro usb male cable to do this.
The only cable I have is the one provided with the K5 (usb B male to usb A male) and the X5-3 (micro usb male to usb A male).
I could buy the required cable to test if it works better than the dock. However please understand that I need the dock function to work at some point in time. After all, it's one of the selling points that made me buy both products. :smile_phones:
Dear IwishIcanFLighT,

Sorry for not explained clearly before. Is there a micro USB port in the back of your K5? If yes, please try to collect your K5 and your computer using the USB cable like the one comes with the X5III to see whether it helps.

Best regards

anyone having issues with wifi on fw 1.1.5? I can't get my tethering to work anymore :frowning2:
The X5 lists the wifi but has troubles connecting, and when it connects there is no data available for the apps.
