well I bought it and I like it as much as my Hugo. So yes I am stating its a good product. BTW I had the Pioneer.

can it be new toy syndrome? i am guilty of that too. u have to admit x5ii has more details. for me i prefer x5iii to x5ii. they are heading in the Cayin direction.

The technology exists for sure

There is an X7proii coming from what I heard... What if it meets all criteria for the best DAP ever created?

I'll tell you what, if they can make it sound like the ifi Micro iDSD, I'd be all over it in a heartbeat. That thing sounds incredible. After listening to it for a few minutes and then going back to the DX80 or X5iii, both of them sound so incredibly flat, undynamic, and non-engaging

Latest daps:
WM1Z/WM1A smooth analog sound and very full
DX200 (have not tried)
DPX1A balanced and neutral with more micro details
X5III slightly warm sounding and controlled. very conservative performance
XDP300R balanced and neutral
Have anyone compared this one and opus1 yet ?

The opus is more clinical than x5iii.
bass is a lot tighter but thin sounding (opus)

Does it worth to upgrade from opus1 to this one? Will it pair good with vegas ?
He only listens to vocals. No bass and rolled off treble is his focus.

I also loved Micro iDSD sound. Though X5ii sounds about the same thing for my ears and headphones

Have you heard all of these?

At that point, if you consider buying X5-3, it must work exceptionally well for you, no?

OH HEEELLS NO, lol. Micro iDSD connected to my DX80 is incredible. Heck, even my near-60 year old father could tell the difference between just the DX80 and the DX80+Micro, and said exactly the same thing as I was thinking (I hadn't told him how I felt about it)...DX80 sounds flat and less immersive.

I should note that this is the Micro iDSD Black, and with my Pinnacle P1s
