I'll tell you what, if they can make it sound like the ifi Micro iDSD, I'd be all over it in a heartbeat. That thing sounds incredible. After listening to it for a few minutes and then going back to the DX80 or X5iii, both of them sound so incredibly flat, undynamic, and non-engaging

OH HEEELLS NO, lol. Micro iDSD connected to my DX80 is incredible. Heck, even my near-60 year old father could tell the difference between just the DX80 and the DX80+Micro, and said exactly the same thing as I was thinking (I hadn't told him how I felt about it)...DX80 sounds flat and less immersive.
I should note that this is the Micro iDSD Black, and with my Pinnacle P1s
