Was looking to upgrade from my OG X3. Considered the X7 but the lack of a dual sd cards kept it off my buy list. The X5(ii) not having a touchscreen turned me off.  Was waiting for the X7ii in the expectation that it would have dual sd cards, but this X5iii will be a late Christmas gift to myself.

Oh wow, so happy I have waited with my upgrading plans. 
It looks like an epic upgrade to my current gear. Just wanted to pull the trigger on the Pioneer DAP. I guess I should wait for the new Fiio X5 3rd gen to go live.

It is almost same to onkyo dp x1 but I like this more since it has better design,fast charging,smaller screen and better DAC chip

Also cheaper and better portability which is vital for a dap.

Also they state 10 hours battery, if you use pure music mode without android and not play DSD will you get 11/12 hours out of it?

Cayin i5 competitor, was just about to order one and didn't see/expect this update coming.... 
 
Two important questions:
- Does it support true gapless playback? This is not an issue for the Asian customer I know, but a deal-breaker for al lot of EU/US music lovers!
- Does it have DLNA support?

Wow!! Looks like an awesome upgrade Fiio! I'm really glad I have not upgraded my iPod classic yet because nothing has checked all my 'want' boxes...until this X5-3! Count me in as a customer.
