FWIW, the 1977 project alone takes up 128 GB

"With root access, you are going to want to install an application like Titanium Backup Pro (about $6 on google play store) because with that, you can freeze applications (like google play services or google services framework) or delete unnecessary applications (like es file explorer, animated wallpapers, alternative language keyboards, fiio market app, email & exchange apps, stock browser)"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Also apps like greenify have a root mode, and since Android 5.1.1 lacks Doze functionality introduced in Android 6.0, greenify hibernates apps not in use.

which apps did you uninstall? i wanted to do the same but was afraid they were somehow linked to other things idk
Don't remember the exact names, but they dealt with wifi, battery, some speed tests, color test, just didn't need them, as all i do with it is play the music. If you root it, and install the custom kernal, after all is done
just go to the apps section in the settings, there won't be much, but nine the less i got rid of them. Not hard to figure out, it certainly doesn't affect the player as far as i can tell.

All of those “color test” and diagnostic apps should be deleted by performing a factory reset after a installation of 1.2.1 (with firmware upgrade tool).
I find them to be installed when using the 1.2.1 update image in the standard firmware upgrade tool.

As far as what to delete, I have screenshots of Titanium Backup Pro, which list the apps I have left in their place (or replaced).
If you don't see it on this list, delete it (or freeze just to be sure)
Sorry I couldn't put them into fewer pictures I had to adjust orientation to easily show the full names (which is not easy if in portrait mode)

I had the same problem with jetaudio again where after a song had finished it went on pause, i killed the app and went to the stock fiio player, and after a bit it just quit during a song, i thought it shut off as the screen was black, i'll play on it again tomorrow and see if it continues.

I don't remember the history of your problem, ElKabong, but I would recommend you install kernel adiutor so you can see where the CPU speed is going down to, and if it's coinciding with your audio drop outs. By default the kernel is allowed to slow the CPU down to 312 MHz.

Hi Sorry to be a pest just hoping to move forward with these issues :) :

what ever came of the ability to sort by "album artist" with the fiio music player??
it's like i'm an album person, from start to finish. i would really love to be able to browse by artist but i can't because the results under a given artists' name is not always the full album.
folder view sure, it's set up exactly how i archive my music - but visually it's bad. i hardly see any of the cover art i bothered to gather and save (only see it when looking at the track that is playing).
what's worse is that i can barely read the album titles because the screen only fits a few characters. most of my folders are artist - album name (year)[format]{catalog} and that doesn't even come close to fitting on the screen. any ideas here? Do i need to ditch fiio music for a different player? I remember reading a while back something along the lines of using a different player wouldn't take full advantage of the fiio circuitry etc that makes it have such a nice sound?

Also -
I loaded my 2nd 400gb card and now I have around 600Gb of music between the two. Scanned it played a few songs yay.
Only I think I have an issue. There are a number of albums I'm missing under a given artist's name. This could be a problem elsewhere but it was easy to identify with this artist because I have around 30 albums but only 4 are showing up??!?!?
I know the tunes were scanned because I can find them in album/song view. Artist listed when I navigate that way is the correct - so why am I not seeing these under artist view?

Thanks as always!
