Please kindly tell us what situation did this phenomenon happen?

 
Happens standby to on (with fw 1.1.2 and both microsd slots occupied)
When i go on i can see an alert "triangle with ! symbol inside" at top bar.
If i open that notification it says "storage unexpectedly removed"
 
But then i hard reset de X5iii and now i only using slot 1, and no more "! triangle"

I have not a real Mac but mine works ok as dac when connected to my hackintosh running Sierra.
Anyway, to my ears, X5 sounds better as DAP than as DAC, I don't know why...

Do you have usb 2.0 or 3.0?
I think it depends what soft player do you use... Try audirvana

I am happy to say I have not had any problems after upgrading to 1.1.2. I did do the cache and data clearing just in case. My files re-read fine (I had already removed tagged album art.). I do have the stutter after pausing but I see that is being addressed. But no crashes, no stopping, just smooth playing.
 
I spent some time to find out how to disable the pause, volume wheel, and fwd/bkwd buttons. I use DAPs while traveling on a motorcycle and it can get moved/bounced around a lot. I would like to have this control easier to get to rather going back to the android screen settings. Maybe move it into the the Fiio player settings or a button or button press combination.
 
I use the headphone connection to a two male one female Y cable joined to a bluetooth receiver for receiving GPS direction information then my iem plugged into the Y cable. So, I like to set the buttons off and then go and being able to switch back when I stop. So, it would be more convenient for me if the button lock was more convenient.

  You upgraded the X5 3rd gen by the micro SD card inserted in card slot 1, right?
Could you please inform us what the file system type of your micro SD card is? It is suggested to use the micro SD card with FAT32 format, if you upgrade the X5 3rd gen by the micro SD card.

The µSD was on Slot #1 and is extFAT formatted.

Btw, when you connect the X5 3rd gen to the computer , did you click to turn on USB storage?

regarding usb connection to PC, when i startup X5 already connected to th PC im not able to establish USB (mass storage) connection i have to unplug cable and repeat steps.

I just wanted to bring up for those meier 2stepdance owners( I am sure other meier amps would work well) that the Fiio x5III paired with the Meier 2Stepdance into the Audiofly AF-1120 sound fricken awesome...that is all good day.

Yep , it is suggested to use the FAT32 format Micro SD card to upgrade the system , or you can upgrade it into the internal_sd. 
 
We do not suggest to user the extFAT format Micro SD card to upgrade it.
 
For the OTA, the downloading speed is not that fast now , and we will improve it soon.

1. Could you kindly tell us the build number (About device =build number) of your X5 3rd gen 's ?
2. Could you kindly install the  install a Fiio_Test APP to check the MCU
inspection method：Turn on the Fiio_Test APP，and check mcu version  
mcu version is   info stored  or   info erased

Exporting the file from iTunes could not be used into X5 3rd gen directly.
