I'm not going to either. In fact I might go get a Cayin N3. I did have one and I forget now why I got rid of it but I remember it worked flawlessly. Maybe I didn't like the capacitive buttons but that isn't really a huge deal. Yes i just made up my mind I'm getting one! :)
I think that's what I remember you saying. It took a day or two for me to get used to them, but now I like them. It was the play/pause/skip hardware buttons that I really had to adjust to, but it's all good now. I'm eagerly awaiting impressions of the X3III after the fw update, but they're still ignoring the X1II. I don't know how they decide which device takes priority when it comes to support, but they sure are ignoring the X1II. As we can see, the complaints are starting to roll in regarding that here and in the X1II thread. Hopefully they can do something.

Yes hopefully but I've pretty much lost any hope that they will be able to fix the X1II problems or maybe if they can fix the X3III maybe that firmware can be altered and used for the X1II...too many maybes though.

I've had this player since Sunday, and I've already experienced the "No Entrypt Chip" error message upon power up the second time now. What does that error code mean exactly? Has anyone else experienced this with their player?

These are standard 44.1khz ape files and dsd64 dsf files which used to show cover art and id3 tags properly in x3ii. I'm using the same SD card in the x3 mark 3. These are big files and I'm sorry I can't send them to you here.
Dear friend,

Would you mind uploading only one sample to the dropbox and share the link to us? Thank you in advanced!

Best regards

Dear friend,

Sorry to hear about that. This may mean one of the chip hasn't been detected properly. Can this issue be solved after restart the X3MKIII?

Best regards

What do you mean by chip, exactly? Do you mean the micro SD card wasn't detected correctly? Not sure what chip means..And yes, restarting the player does fix this issue.

Will this be fixed in your next firmware update? I certainly hope so. If this keeps happening, I may have to return the player back to Amazon, despite me loving the sound quality, sadly. :'-(

Here is the dropbox link with a folder with 4 songs. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1pyuflih7sz7z12/AADqddvjTS57rTiEZ3k7UZAYa?dl=0
I have uploaded 4 files. AC/DC Ape file, Quincy Jones DSF file, Moth into flame MP3 file and Immigrant Song flac file.
1.ape file displays track info correctly but no cover art
2. MP3 file also displays track info correctly but no cover art
3. flac file displays track info and covert art correctly, but shows filename instead of track name in the bottom track name column on the screen
4. dsf file doesn't display track info and cover art

Hope this helps!

I've decided to return my player like some others here and purchase either the X5 II or the upcoming Shanling M3S instead. While I do adore the sound quality, navigating the UI is bothersome. The touch screen wheel on my unit is inadequate, often requiring me to swipe up to 3 times for touches to even register! The "No Entrypt Chip" error notification showing up two times within only days of owning the player was what affirmed my decision to send the unit back.

I'm sorry, but the X3 III is just way too buggy right now.

It's awfully quiet in here. I still have some faith in fiio and am waiting for the upcoming firmware with bated breath. Let's see if it lives up to our expectations. Any affirmative date for that release Fiio?

Dear friend,

Thanks! We will report to our engineer about that and fix in later firmware.

Can you explain the "No Entrypt Chip" error message please? What does "Chip" mean exactly? Is it the micro SD card that's faulty?

Its an error from one of the DAC chips. Reboot should fix it.

Dear friend,

As our engineer said, it should be a coded chip in the mainboard.

Best regards
