Last week I demoed a A&K AK120 at the California Audio Show and Pink Floyd sounded really really nice.
It could have been because they had some really good digital recording.
Personally, I'm looking at getting the Fiio X3 as it's more affordable.

If the AK120 was so good, why don't you buy it?  You say the X3 is more affordable but is that only based on SQ/$ or is it really a close game SQ-wise, thus more affordable?

As I have not listened yet to a Fiio X3, so it's hard for me to compare audio qualities between X3 and AK120/100.
I really liked the AK120, the interface, seemed easy to use, really nice sound quality.
but I'm not the kind of person to spend $1200 for a portable digital audio player.

Haven't heard either but Let's face it the AK120 is going to be better, but it better had for the price, but i'm like Purpleangel i would never pay that kind of money for a DAP but the X3 is perfectly priced and will be my next purchase.
