I just excitedly got my UTWS5 in the mail, and then discovered that the Android ROM I'm using doesn't support aptx adaptive. So I'm stuck with regular aptx until Fiio decide to add LDAC support in the future...huge bummer.

Yeah you and many like me are waiting this but with utws5 i am not sure we will see ldac. It would be best thing ever and give this product boost in quality and longevity. At the moment lhdc is best it gives and still not full 900kbps and with one brand phones practically so no luck for others. Still using it as there is no better product and i dont have many problems with it as some guys here have.

All BBK phones have LHDC restricted to only their own headphones. Rename UTWS5 to "Oppo" and try once again. Oppo wants you to buy their earbuds, nothing new here.

So to just "Oppo"? ok i will try this..
Tried to rename Utws5 to Oppo in bluetooth device, nothing changed. In developer also setting to lhdc nothing changes. So you really made lhdc work with utws5 this way? Perhaps something more made it to work. Need to delete perhaps or reset bluetooth and add once more?

Most likely. I've tried that with some generic QCC5125 module from AliExpress and that enabled LHDC. You'll probably have to delete the pairing and pair it. But I changed the name of the module itself, not in Android settings. Does FiiO Control app has such setting?

You are the man. Really worked! After renamed in fiio control panel and reconnected all. Now i have lhdc fully working (at least till utws5 capable 500/560kbps) with my realme gt2pro. That's really made my day. At last i can finally fully get quality sound from current utws. Now will wait till fiio will make utws 6 with full bitrate supported codecs - lhdc or ldac at least. This is what we all need, fiio. Hear me. And once more Thanks O11111. This your method should know all oneplus, realme, oppo, vivo and similar brand users.

My battery drops from a full charge to about 90% in the first half hour. It's brand new. Is this normal?

And im with Samsung Phone so only aptx work i assume and im not sure if thats good enough ^^" (currently have the qudelix 5k and hiby wu1 which both support ldac)

IMHO, if you don't need a TWS solution...I'd stick with the Q5K for mobile needs. The FiiO app is bag of crap compared to the features and functions on the Qudelix...and there is no support / updates once FiiO takes your money. Just a horrible user experience in general...each time I use it, I am not sure if it will be a connection issue, or if they are fully charged, but I can definitely count on my EQ settings being wiped.

At least with the Qudelix, you know it will work the way you want it, when you want it.

1. Sorry I don't have that test data.
2. The engineer are still improving and testing the LDAC firmware. We will release it when the firmware is stable enough.

That is still a question if for fiio "engineers" it will not bee stable enough But still it would be huge upgrade to utws5 longevity. I still hope we will see ldac.
