[FiiO UTWS5 2025/UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Amplifier Is Officially Released!

Hi. Can the filter type (peak, lowshelf, highshelf) be selected in FiiO app for UTWS5 2025 when setting PEQ? I have the older UTWS5 and filter type can't be selected and I was wondering if this was fixed with the new UTWS5 version. Thanks.
Dear friend,
UTWS5 2025 could switch the filter type from EQ page in FiiO Control app.
Best regards

Hi. Can we expect a firmware update for the older UTWS5 in the near future which will add the posibility of selecting filter types in PEQ, or the support for older UTWS5 is completely abandoned (as FiiO usualy does with most of it's products) and we are left with the device as it is, with partialy implemented PEQ? I will not buy a new FiiO product until I see that FiiO is consistent in providing software updates over time (and not only in the first few months after a release) for it's lineup products. Most of FiiO products are great pieces of hardware but are a big let down by software support...
Thanks.

If price wasn't an issue, would y'all rather have the UTWS5 2025 or the iFi Go Pods? My gut tells me the iFi Go Pods are the way to go, but they still use contact charging for the earhooks, while the UTWS5 2025 charges them wirelessly. These would be used with mid-fi IEMs, Performer 5+2, Mega5-EST, etc.

Also I much prefer the wireless charging of the iFi go pods something the UTWS5 went away from and you need to charge with a wire. The case for the go pods is bigger however and probably less travel friendly.

just got the UTWS5 2025(2pin). I'm noticing random drops in connection on the right side. I know the IEMs are good because they work perfectly with cables. Suggestions please

I just installed the new firmware and it does not have transparency mode. Too bad. Anyway, I switched back to the old firmware. I wish they saw this as a priority, but I suppose they think most aren’t interested in this feature. It’s one of the main reasons I picked these over the competitors.

Just got the UTWS5 2025, and very disappointed with it so far. Had to update to the v1.0 firmware, as there was constant crackling and popping in the right earpiece with the out-of-box firmware. LDAC is very broken, but it seems like an issue with the UTWS5 - it starts out fine, then one of the earpieces starts to crackle after about 5 minutes, then the music starts to break apart, and finally goes quiet. However, it still shows up as connected on the phone or tablet and the music in the app keeps playing. The Fiio control app stops being able to connect though. Only way to get it working again is to put both pieces in the charging box. So seems like it crashes when using LDAC? I'm using a Samsung S23 and Tab S9 (yes, yes, evil), so they're not officially snapdragon sound, but I have no issues using LDAC on both with the BTR3K (which I was hoping to replace with this, as untangling the cable each time is a pain :)) and my old WH-1000XM3s. Is it not able to handle having to transmit between the earpieces and decode LDAC at the same time? No issues with aptX, but since there's no ambient mode on these, I would have purchased another brand if I new it only supports aptX.

^^ You have no issue with the older FiiO device as it uses a chipset that supports LDAC via 2 data streams not shoehorning it onto a chipset using QUALCOMMS Lossless Compression (as a hack) that does not actually support it so that is a moot point.

I have the FW5's so basically the same but opt to use either aptX Adaptive or LHDC (LDAC is still a beta function and no FW updates in over a year), not sure why they did not add that codec to the 2025 refresh of the ear loops.
