FiiO releases the new firmware FW1.7.2 for X1 2nd gen

  2 Fiio Support
Hello! Could you please add support for reading and applying of ReplayGain tag (like it's already done in X1 1st gen AFAIK) and add some option in settings to show tags permanently over album cover in next firmware release? Now tags are displayed for about 2 seconds in the beginning of the song and then disappear (if the song has cover inside).
Also I've faced a bug in the latest firmware (1.5.6) - black screen with no controls. Steps to reproduce:
1. Refreshed media library
2. From "All songs" list open some song with russian/ukrainian symbols in filename
3. Press play button
4. Press back button
And then I've expected to see song list again but instead got a black screen and no response from any button. BTW song was still playing normally.
Also I have another bug (I think it's not too important one but anyway) - just after refreshing of media library if you start playing any file it will skip 2 seconds from beginning.
Also it would be wonderful to see some sensivity setting for touch-scroller because now it's too sensitive IMO.
Hope to see your answer soon!

Dear inox9,

Thank you for your kind feedback. Please do a factory restore to see whether it helps? You may also change the file name display to title to see whether the issue still?
We will try to reproduce the issue and report to the engineers about that. Sorry for bringing inconvenience to you.
As for the second bug and the advice, we will also report to them.

Best regards

Hi, FiiO, I recently got a Jawbone BIG JAMBOX Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, the X1 2nd with 1.56 firmware cannot pair with it. Also, the updating of media library stopped at 2,126 songs, while I have around 6,000 songs on my micro sd card. thanks.

Dear jimmy135121,

We will report to the engineer about that and go on improving the Bluetooth function in later firmware. You may format the card to FAT32 and update again to see whether it helps?

Best regards

Hey, @FiiO , yesterday my X1II went to sleep with bluetooth on. When I woke it up to listen to some music, it froze. I had to force restart it, and when it did, it froze at FiiO logo, everytime. I thought the player had died, but to my surprise, it had corrupted the SD Card format. I couldn't format it using macOS and when i tried using the device, it would say format successful but the card wouldn't work. I had to format it with my dad's X5II and it worked. ¿Any possible explanation for the device to mess up the filesystem of my card?

Thanks!

The same thing here, gapless playback was one of my main reasons to buy this player. As of most software controlled devices the last decennia, products are not completely functional when released on the market. A bit of a shame for a decent piece of hardware.

I am part of a debugging testdrivers team for a non related software kit where the writer wants to be shure that things are working as they are intended to be before releasing it on the end users and i find this the only way to hold up a high company standard for future endavours. I know FioO likes to help out, but preventing such comments is commercialy the sane way to act i think.

@FiiO it has happened thrice that when powering on the device with bluetooth on and starts playing when i try to go back to the song selection it shows a black screen with numbers (when I press the center button a "1" appears, the scroll wheel is "2" and "3", etc.) The music keeps playing but the device is unusable.

@FiiO file sorting is totally messed up in "All songs" list when there is a mix of english and non-english filenames (eg. russian/ukrainian ones). I've done a forced library update a few times but it didn't help at all (FW is the latest one - 1.5.6). For me sorting will be correct if english filenames will come first in list and after them all non-english ones. Of course filenames starting with a number should come before any other filenames. Please tell your engineers to fix that, thanks.

We will report to the engineers about that. Thank you for the feedback. It would be great if you could provide us some songs for example.

You can use any files you have, just rename them so they contain non-latin symbols (eg. cyrillic ones).
The best sorting IMO will be the one that represents ascending order of symbols' hex code values in standard UTF-8 character table - http://www.utf8-chartable.de

I seem to have the exact same issue but I cant figure out what button combo causes this, Il need to do more testing but I get a black screen and when i hit button's numbers show up on the black screen. The only way to fix this is to reboot the device with the memory card out. I also find my Fiio X1 II extremely slow I only have 300 songs on it and a 64 GB class 10 card. The whole UI feels sluggish and sometimes i find it hard to select option because the lag is so bad. Im running newest firmware as well.

Dear schn0052,

Sorry to hear about that. Did you format the card to FAT32 before? You may try to do a factory restore and reflash the firmware again to see if it helps. We will also report to the engineer about that.
