What's your guys take on the "All DSD" feature? I feel like it's just turning up the volume a bit, but nothing else?

Can R7 replace Mac as a streamer?

I have 4 USBs (amp/DAC) connected to Mac.

Is R7 capable of that without losing streaming quality? Obviously, I would have to use two Hubs for that purpose.

One LAN (two ports) and one USB (four ports) Hub. Is that a good idea? I am satisfied with having Mac as a streamer, but I thought the sound would be even cleaner or better if I used a dedicated streamer, in this case, R7.

And would using USB Hub degrade quality immediately?

I would appreciate opinions, even so, from Fiio itself.

Thanks!

Cheers!

Hi,
Personally 5 use the R7 with a USB hub with the USB sticks
It works flawlessly...
I did not notice any degraded sound with this.

I use BubbleUPnP to remote control the R7 and everything is fine... Except it seems the R7 will add a bunch of files and folders to your USB sticks

How do you control the R7 with the bubble? Mine will not appear in the renderer list.

Hi,
You have to enable it as a renderer.
Go to settings
The local and cloud
Then UPnP and DLNA settings
There enable show on lan

I think this is how it's done
Thanks, I will test it but I think that it only works with FiiO Music player for music files and the setting is not effective for streaming Qobuz, Spotify etc.

Hi,
Install Bubble UPnP on the Fiio R7 and enable it as a renderer as I said in the previous post.

Once done you can install Bubble UPnP on your phone.
Or any other app that can stream from Qobuz (Bubble UPnP, mConnect or UAPP) and select Bubble UPnP as a renderer.
You will be able to playback Qobuz to your fiio R7...

You can achieve the same result with UAPP enabled as a renderer :)

That way, the R7 is really a fantastic machine !

Hey, this is great trick. I didn't know this function of the bubble app. I will do that and report back.

As I said, UAPP can do the same...
And offers PEQ "the easy way" with a function called "MorphIt.
Works super nice with 3 clicks...

But of course not mandatory since Fiio offered us systemwide PEQ :)

I'm selling the R7 I think... To get the R9 when it will available here in France...
