FiiO R7 All-In-One Desktop Android HiFi Music Player Discussion & Impressions Thread

OK, thanks.

Another question: what's the size limit for an SSD drive connected via the (standard) USB and via USB-C ? I guess there will be some Android limitation?

And what about FiiO Music? Which library size can it handle?
Hi, there is no limit to the SSD size, the only limit is the drive current of the SSD, which needs to be <1A. If your SSD supports external power supply, then there will be no limit.

FiiO Music, the library is also no limit, we have tested the 5T SSD without any problems.

Hi, FiiO Music is already support UPNP, you can open the "Media server" to use it.
Thanks but this is not excaltly what we need.
This is to allow the R7 to access media in a remote server.
You still have to use the R7 interface.
We to implement UpnP protocol for the R7 to work like a steamer so bubble UpnP application can access the R7 as a remote streamer.
I don't know if the R7 OS can allow that.

Hello All, can someone from Fiio or another head-fi member pkease confirm which Bluetooth codecs are present both when the R7 acts as a transmitter or receiver.

In some reviews I read there was aptx-adaptive but it s not shown on Fiio website.

so far I believe
Fiio receiver : sbc, aac, ldac
Fiio transmitter : sbc, aac, aptx, aptx hd, ldac, lhdc.
aptx LL(?) aptx-adaptive(?)

Thanks :)

Maybe you can use upmpdcli like Gustard does in their DAC Streamers.
Hi,

Like I think everybody does
Volumio, runeAudio (rAudio-1) and I think apps like USB Audio Player Pro or BubbleUPnP.

So far I am using the Raspberry Pi4 with RuneAudio and I must say that I like it.

The thing I will probably miss if I switch to the R7 is the ability to remote control the device with the computer, which I can do with the pi4.
But, as a compensation, I would be able to remote control it with the remote control I already bought from Fiio

Dear friend,

R7 features Bluetooth 5.0; supports reception of SBC/AAC/LDAC; supports transmission of SBC/IAAC/aptX/ aptX HD/LDAC/LHDC.
Aptx Adaptive or Aptx LL is not supported in R7

Best regards

Looks like the UK retailers have just received their first shipments. My order from Advanced MP3 Players has been shipped, and looks like it's showing as In Stock on the OTIC website.

Unfortunately its a double bank-holiday weekend for Easter (Friday and Monday), so earliest I'll get mine is Tuesday :sob:

Hi, DLNA Renderer function will be added on future update.

Thank you for sorting that out :)
As it has been said before , it s a little sad we only get android 10 not 12 ( and for aptx-adaptive I can still put a dongle for that if I really need it)

At least this time I can at least use LHDC which was notoriously missing on my Fiio M11 pro

Good news that UK stock is arriving now. Haven't had my dispatch notice from OTIC yet, but like yourself hopefully will be early next week for delivery.
