Is there any recommendation concerning the USB-C connection? I mean there should be no risk for R7, if I connect it via USB-C to a USB-hub connected to my PC, but also extra powered by a network adapter, right?

At the Moment I am playing HD flac files from a Sony NWA 55L via bluetooth to an Ifi Zen Blue V2 connected to my home hi-fi system intergrated amplifier (Quad Vena 2) through a pair of Dali Oberon speakers (i don't use earphones). I listen to music quite a lot some am having to recharge the Sony abou every 3 days
I like the idea of the Fiio R7 as theres no battery involved and also it will allow me at a later date to get involved in streaming.

Am I correct in my presumption that if line out is selected on the R7 and connected to the Quad Vena 2 using either RCA phono, Optical out, or Coaxial out (if it works on all 3 connections it allows later changes in amplifier or connection cables) on the rear connections on the R7 to the corresponding connections on the Quad that the R7 won't act as a pre-amp which is not good for sound quality on an intergrated amp.

I also noticed that the amplifiers in the review are monoblock not an integrated amplifier like my system.

I am concerned if line out is selected on the R7 it will acts as a pre-amplifier. Is the headline you were pointing me to which means the R7 would not be suitable for my needs.

There's a Line Out (fixed) and Pre-amp Out (variable) option.

The line out (fixed) is selected or not would not affect the optical or coaxial out in R7.

If you would like to use the optical or coaxial out in R7, you would need to enable the OPT/COAX output option from system setting-Audio-OPT/COAX output.
