Is there any recommendation concerning the USB-C connection? I mean there should be no risk for R7, if I connect it via USB-C to a USB-hub connected to my PC, but also extra powered by a network adapter, right?
Hi, of course you an do that.

For my UK-based Head-Fiers, the FiiO R7 can be preordered from OTIC audio for just £552.49 delivered using their Spring sale discount code "SPRING" for 15% off, saving nearly £100 off RRP.

Not sure when the code will expire, I'd already preordered with AdvancedMP3Players and they were kind enough to price match OTIC and refund the difference. If only the UK had actually received any stock of the R7, hopefully I'll have it soon!

EDIT: Looks like OTIC have locked the "SPRING" voucher code down to specific products now, so it doesn't work on the R7 anymore.

Hi,

Local reseller should get those babies this week :)
Probably only in Black. Still hesitating.

But my two questions are following :
- can the display remain up for a long time or will that make it "burn" with remnants of static elements still in the display ?
- any news of the software update that will turn this into a DLNA renderer ? Would love to use the Fiio software instead of something else.

Regards.

Luckily the code worked for me, when I placed my order after seeing your original post, though will they now honour it, fingers crossed

Looking at videos of the R7, the screen seems to use an IPS panel like your M11 PRO as it has visible IPS glow on black backgrounds, so screen burning in won't be an issue as it isn't an OLED display. FiiO don't actually mention what display technology is used anywhere that I can see, nor do any reviews, but I'm pretty sure it's IPS.
