FIIO Q15 DAC and Headphone Amplifier Discussion & Impressions Thread

Use "Phone mode ON" on the go, this way Q15 uses internal battery, not the source's one. Seems, your phone can't provide enough power to Q15 when you turn "Phone mode" OFF - that's the reason of these flooding notifications on the phone.
Thanks for the input, I am using pixel 6a under android 14 and never had any issues with other dongles due to the lack of thrust. My biggest gripe is even on the phone mode, there are occasionally cases where I hear absolutely nothing even both devices seem to be connected normally. Based on the reply, can I assume that you don't have any connection issue even on the default mode?

I have had the similar issue only once, phone rebooting solved it.
But I use it mostly either with a laptop in desktop mode or with TV via Bluetooth.
I will try to test it wired with a phone and will let you know.

I installed Q15 xmos v1.59 firmware successfully without problems, but later tried to install v1.66 and got "brick". Apparently this is a widespread problem. And it’s not clear from the documentation how to reset to factory settings, does anyone know?
Hi,friend
Did your machine not turn on after the upgrade?
Please long press the power button for more than 10 seconds, try to see if you can't turn on the machine again, if not, please contact your salesman Send back

Hi there, I seem to have some significant connection issue with Q15 to my smartphone.

On "default mode" (both phone+desktop mode off status) it keeps showing these reoccurring error messages like 10 times per minute as attached and doesn't play music at all.

If I only activate the "phone mode" (desktop off), it seems to get connected to my smartphone successfully and plays music, however even on "phone mode" occasionally it fails to play music. To troubleshoot this matter, Q15 either requires multiple reboots or converting to "desktop mode" first and then returning back to "phone mode".

The only mode it plays music constantly without any issues, is when I use the "desktop mode" (phone off) setting while it being connected to the AC outlet simultaneously.

Is this an user error or rather an internal software issue? This constant connection issue prevents me to use q15 on the go.

In general, what is the proper usage of q15 when a smartphone is used as source? @FiiO Willson
Hi
If you are traveling, it is recommended that you put the DESKTOP MODE to OFF and the PHONE MODE to ON, I wonder if this will still happen?

I've asked my engineer to test it as you said to see if there is any abnormality

Anyone having issues connecting to an iPhone via USB? I’ve tried a number of cables, phone mode is on, and I’ve tried both USB modes. No luck.

USB connection works to a Mac however.

Hello,
It works in my case with I-phone and the

Cayin
CS-L2C
USB C-Lighning Adapter cable.

In USB Mode,
Phone Mode on.
But it says only PCM 44k on the display, not sure why and if this is normal.

The CS-L2C cable is basically for the Cayin RU6 but it works even for iFi go blu.

Anyone having (tick noise) issues connecting to an Android OS Phone or PC via USB?

If the bit of the next song and the sample rate are different, tick noise occurs when auto moving or force moving on to the next song.

There is tick noise at the beginning of the next song when q15 usb c - Android OS phone or pc is connected. (I use streaming Tidal or Quboz in UAPP=Usb Audio Player Pro Android app)
"Tick noise occurs when the bit of the song and the sample rate are different."

1. current song 16bit 44k ------- next song 16bit 44k = Tick noise X
2. current song 24bit 96k ------- next song 24bit 48k = Tick noise O
3. current song 24bit 96k ------- next song 24bit 96k = Tick noise X
4. current song 16bit 44k ------- next song 24bit 96k = Tick noise O

I want to know how to solve it.

Lol, today I decided to run q15 in portable mode without any success.
Q15 battery is 58%, desktop mode is off, phone mode is on.
I'm getting the attached message.
My phone is Samsung S20+
