A burning coal in the hand with just one battery life span,
Ideal just after buying the product, Sale it within 3 - 6 months of usage to retain valuation of your money unless you have uncapped access to Fiio‘s manufacturing plant in China.
I don't know about the M17, but it already looks far more portable than any DAP with adding a Cayin C9 or a LESS Bx2+ amps...
People without any difficult headphones (80/85db) to drive, shouldn't be really concerned by such DAP.
It should be one of the best solution to be free at home without needing any 15m to 20m balanced cable.
If docking station allows power connection and access to the spdif output ... it can be really useful as desktop streamer/dlna renderer, if not ... this dock will be very annoying to use.
@FiiO would a 15V battery pack in 4s(2p) form be OK with M17, instead of the power supply? Because as the batteries are depleted, it will go down. Would the M17 still be OK with that, like 11-12V?

I just noticed that! It says "Coax in, out", meaning M17 also works as coax input DAC!? Also, the USB3.0 charging and host ports are separated, then you can connect a disk drive and charge at the same time. @FiiO, are those features final and we will have them with the product? I am really hyped about this player!

I noticed it was on the sold M17 of the Chinese market and that's an interesting feature, as actually there is none of the android players to be able to be charged while using an external DAC with the same USB-C link (or limited with the Toslink/Spdif output, when available)
This will surely allow to use this DAP with a Desktop DAC, which can be very good at home to be free to move where we want and enjoy the best SQ.

That is wonderful! Thank you! One more question: A Few months ago you mentioned that a parametric EQ development is going it, that can also be system generic. Do you know if that will happen?

+1 to this. This is key to me using FiiOMusic, which I would like to do if I buy this [or alternately an M11 Plus in current form or next relase with the new DAC chip]. Otherwise I will continue to use USB Audio Player Pro [that I use on both my M6 and X7] to get the most out of my IEMs and Headphones with precise PEQ control. That player comes with a (additionally paid-for) plug-in Parametric EQ called Toneboosters that I find invaluable. So I really hope that FiiO will be able to match what the UAPP player can achieve.

Unfortunately, UAPP is missing some major feature => no offline for Qobuz, no Amazon HD music ... and is often limited to 44.1khz with many DAPs (I suppose it will take months before M17 will be recognized by UAPP)
If Fiio M17 can use the DSP features included in Hires chip for PEQ, it will be become the most universal DAP on the market (better than Sony which are able to apply GEQ to both DAC inputs).
