Portable Desktop-Class DAC and Headphone Amplifier, FiiO Q9

In the previous post, I have put forward an idea of making a portable desktop-class DAC and headphone amplifier Q9 on the basis of M17. Q9 is designed for those users who mainly use mobile phones as their audio sources, and people who hope to enjoy the strong driven power and high sound quality as that of M17. Of course, as the high cost of main control and display are saved, the price is expected to be halved and become more affordable. Now we have started our appearance design, let's see which one you like (see the below pictures), A or B? Also, we welcome any comment and suggestion on the design of Q9.
PS, Q9 is still in a very early stage of our exploration, and whether it will be formally set up for development project is yet to be determined. So the design/functions/specification has not been determined.

i con't care about a or b. what i do like is your simple direct communication and that fact the VOICE of the customer here is listened to.
so both look great and i would make a pre-order, right now it that would be possible :)

I do use my DAP the same way, so I know what you meant. I also agreed on your view that as a company, you don’t need to write essays explaining why you should produce this and should not be doing that.

Those essays are for executive board meetings !!!

As for your products, the consumers will tell you whether you have executed it nicely or poorly, because who cares about why you did what you did ? They only care about products features and technicals, not your philosophies
Or you should just do like iBasso: Implement a simple FPGA "master" solution, blow it like the greatest innovation ever and keep people speculating about whether it is doing DSP bla bla...

I like these writings very much, as I also learn something from them. If someone wants to skip them, easy, just don't read them.

I am waiting for the M17 now, but if the reality is as nice as my expectations, I really think that would be a great idea to sell a Q9 with a real powerful THX amp and a BT Ldac .. It sounds like what the Centrance M8V2 should have been with LDAC instead of APTX and more power at 20 ohms to drive a DCA Stealth or HEDDphone one..
As I like to use my android galaxy z fold 3 with a WD SSD 4tb, I would switch to a Q9 from the M17 instantly.

If ribs in A are rubberized, then A.
If it is metal, then B.

I like B more. Less places for dust and dirt to get into, easier to maintain. Unless it hass actual cooling purposes; in that case A.

With something like the Q9, it would just be a transportable amp then using phone via usbc or BT?

If so, as a wireless solution I would want Snapdragon Sound or Apt X Adaptive at this point.

I am curious as to why would you need more than one system. I have one home system one set of speakers, one set of wired headphones one set of wired earphones, one set of wireless headphones, one set of wireless earbuds ( for the occasion’s where wired is not practical) and one portable system (my phone and a Q5S). That’s it. The M17 will replace the phone - Q5S combo as my deflacto “portable” system. I like to enjoy my music, the gear is the medium I use to achieve that goal. I find having too much gear is detrimental to that enjoyment.
I have different rooms that's why more than one system,as far as Daps, dacs amps for different genres and I don't like to burn them out,as a matter of fact I am a FiiO fanboy, but I have to call them out from time to time to keep them honest.

Fair enough.

I have no particular loyalty to any given brand. I do own a fair bit of B&O stuff because, I like their designs and I can live with the sound signature of their products.

(With careful room placement and some EQ thrown in to them).

This Fiio M17 will serve my needs for a portable (transportable) powerful AMP - DAP. The Q5s was recommended to me by a friend and I liked the sound signature hence, the reason to go with Fiio again. But, that does not mean I will keep buying their stuff when the need to buy new equipment arises.
