M15 is quite appearing due to bigger battery while dx220's not so good on run-time.

This makes a lot of a difference to me. M15 battery seems like it never ends. Then, there's the fluidity/responsiveness of the system, which is top notch, unlike the slugish DX220.

They say DX220 is as fluid as an iphone 8. Batter life...because compromises have to be made friend.

I have something to say because I did this same comparison last night too

For more that I have loved the Black Label (and it's amazing), the M15 is 1-2 steps or so above it. The more I listen to it the more I'm impressed. For the first time, with an adaptor ,I was able to use my balanced 2.5mm Effect Audio Leonidas cable (for LCD-i4) on the Black Label, and even so... no chance with the M15 (greater dynamics, better layering, superior soundstage depth, more refined and detailed, much better bass).

Can't disagree with you on any of your findings, the M15 is definitely 1 maybe 2 steps above the idsd based on sound quality alone

Think your right but will double check later, when I was using last night I thought the folders were in a non alphabetical order.

not related to fiio, but i said the same thing after bought the micro bl, and sold it a month later after bought sony wm1a lol

You might have messed up by selling the micro bl.... I plugged into my micro bl yesterday using the line out of the DAP... the sound was amazing....

That's why I'm holding back on selling the Micro BL, it's a really nice powerful piece of kit.

I would highly recommend anyone who has an external amp to give it a try. Yesterday I checked several pieces with and without amp (SHA900), for some I liked the mid-forward full sound signature of M15 and for some it was the sparkly and very neutral amp output. The amp is not as powerful as M15 but gives a new sound signature option.

That’s never the case . Twice the price is not twice the sound quality . That’s where diminishing returns begin . You get little more upgrade for much Investments in the „normal case“

I'm not sure how much power it puts out in the LO mode but it does seem to be higher than my other DAPS ( Good )...
I just tried the LO mode out with the DROP + THX AAA™ 789 LINEAR AMPLIFIER and the combo is very powerfull

you turn the LO (line out ) mode on the 3.5mm output ( pre-amp mode )... pull down the menu and select LO.. the 3.5mm output turns into LO level ( no power adjustment ) then on the Black Label you connect via male/male 3.5mm cable at the input between the two switches on the front of the amp... thought I was thru with stacking... but this just sounds too good for over the ears... here is the cable I used.. https://www.fiio.com/productinfo/9571.html
