Hi all. Just picked up a used M15 and I’m quite pleased. Really great w/ my Auteur, which is the first pairing I’ve tried.
Bonus points — M15 drives Hedds quite well —plenty of juice, and great imaging. Balanced out in ‘over-the-ear’ mode & high gain … of course :)

< edit > Very good driving Ether 2 as well. I worried that I might get a sound which was 'too relaxed' with that pairing, but that didn't happen. Play at about the same volume as Hedd, or just a touch lower -- 60 - 90 ish < /edit >

Hi, does anyone know if FiiO has already given up support for the M15? Last firmware update was in December 2020 I think, we still are on Android 7 (which probably will never change either) and even the FiiO music app is stuck on 3.0.5. Not quite sure what changed, but the latest version in the PlayStore is 3.0.8 and updating manually doesn’t work for me.

Hi,

Has anyone used the m15 with CFA Solaris? This IEM is very sensitive, I have tried some DAPs and they all have hissing with it. Would like to know if the m15 will has similar problem.
I don’t have the Solaris, but I have Vision Ears VE6 which are pretty sensitive as well. No hiss when using the 3.5mm jack, but when I use the balanced 2.5mm the hissing is quite noticeable. I have to use the iFi iEMatch to get rid of that.

You might want to try downloading the latest "M" version (3.0.9) of the FiiO music app from here: https://forum.fiio.com/note/showNoteContent.do?id=202105071626425774349

The download on the Play Store is probably just the generic Android version.

Thanks a lot!
The FiiO music app always told me „no update“ would be available.
Unfortunately manually installing 3.0.9 resulted in constant crashes of the app just seconds after I opened it. Had to reset the app completely. For some reason v3.0.8 seems to work for now, so I can finally use the „play next“ feature. Wish there would be a „add to queue“ feature as well though.

Well, maybe I should just stick with USB Audio Player Pro to avoid the hassle with FiiOs weird software support.

I highly assume the M15 is going to be discontinued soon. Android 7 is officially out of support since October 2019 and according to official information from FiiO, the processor doesn't support any newer Android Version

Dear friend,

Maybe it was because the FiiO Music app in your M15 was an older version so the update notification does not work fine for it.
If the 3.0.9 version crash the first time you use it, please try to clear the data from the FiiO Music app from system setting-Apps. Then turn it on again.

Best regards

It’s a shame how fast phones become outdated nowadays, but with Android DAPs it seems to be even worse by quite a bit.

Thanks for your suggestion! I got v3.0.9 up and running now.
As a suggestion, as I mentioned above: please consider adding an „add to queue“ function in addition to the „play next“, that’s something I have been missing since day one.

Dear friend,

Thanks for the feedback. We will report to the engineer for assessing about that.

Best regards

If you have a premium Smartphone, you often get long support with up to 6 years (Pixel, Xperia 1/5 and so on)

But yes, DAPs use cheaper SOC like cheaper Smartphones do, so the lifecycle is shorter.

But(!) Android 7 is from 2016 and the Support ran out in 2019.

The FiiO M15 was released in 2020. So the M15 was released when Android 7 was already dead. It was released with an dead operating system from the first second.
