got micron 1tb sd card (MTSD1T0AKC7MS-1WT) recently. it is really great. like the signals loss is even less. nothing sounds like it. sandisk, Samsung sounds the same. but this micron is really different.

Every SD card related post needs a disclaimer. Some believe and others do not. Across various threads there are claims of improvements, but everyone needs to choose for themselves how far they wish to travel down particular rabbit holes. Plus, how much to you take advice from your wallet...

the 1tb micron i bought at the time had special offer which only 200usd, which same as SanDisk extreme pro 1tb

Not to be a downer but there is positively no sound to an sd card period. That's firmly in the realm of crazy. Ones and zeros. What's next, different copies of the file sound better or worse?

The Song gets read from the SD Card --> Into the Memory/RAM --> parts from the Song get transferred from the RAM Into the CPU Cache --> then it gets processed --> then it gets send to the DAC (from the CPU Cache)

The SD card is only there to store the music, as soon you play a song, the song gets read into the RAM and from there, the CPU Takes bites which it is processing in its cache before anything gets send to the DAC. So it doesn't matter if its an 20 year old USB HDD with a spinning disk plugged via USB-C through adaptors or if its the best/fastest SD Card you can buy, it will always sound identical because the file is always loaded in memory first.

Some DAP even load the next song before the one you're listening too is finished to provide gapless playback. Depending on how much memory you have 2/3 songs could be read into the RAM.

There is absolutely no way an SD Card could change the sound, ever. The Song is loaded into the Memory before the CPU starts processing it.

I prefer to use my phone and a dongle these days for my iem. However the m15 was awesome when I had Empyrean's and D8000P aswell, but now I sold those two and got a Susvara.

I am surprised. I have never heard the M15 but I tested a lot of dongles and I never experienced a single one that sounded good.

Either your dongle sounds awesome or the M15 is not that good...

I assume the M11 Plus with ESS DAC will come first. From what I've heard, the M11 Plus LTD sold like hot cakes, the M15 didn't and in most countries, you can no longer buy the M11 Plus LTD so FiiO is most likely interested in bringing an M11 Plus LTD successor as fast as possible.

Also the M11 uses the THX AAA-78, the M17 uses the THX AAA-788, there is pretty much nothing in between. I doubt there will be any new M15 anytime soon, but that's just guessing

So I was interested in upgrading to the M15 from M11 Pro but I have received 2 M11 Pro's (from B&H photo) with stuck pixels that did not respond to any remedy and I will be returning them. Seeing that the M15 has the same display, do these QC issues still exist? Or are these units more vetted considering the price and flagship status?

1. you can try pressing power and volume at the same time
2. or you can try power again after running out of power
3. or you can try 5v2a plug

That's too bad, I hope it doesn't affect watching video's? I've successfully "massaged" out dead / stuck pixels before, so I went to look for the article I read originally, and found this updated/new article:

You are the first I've seen complain about the M15 screen having stuck pixels, but I know earlier the M11's had a run of bad screens, they went BAD "during shipping" and were a problem when sold new. It sounds like yours became bad later? How long was it from purchase to first stuck pixel?

@FiiO or another Fiio employee userid here has said a new M15 is planned for 2022 Summer, YMMV, and I'm strongly thinking of waiting till then before turning in my M15

Maybe AKM will restart their DAC chip line again and FiiO can pick up where FiiO/AKM left off?
