I underestimated how good the 3.5mm sounds on the M15. Matter of fact, I prefer it to the 4.4mm with the Custom Fibae 6. 4.4mm is just too mid bassy and not expansive enough with my iems. 3.5mm brings out the treble and gives the sense of a deep soundstage while keeping the bass tight on the Fibae 6.

Got a tweet anywhere or a news article? Can't for the life of me find anything
I saw it!! They also announced the M20 slated for release next year! I think the M15S is going to take the M11 place.

I think when you have time to try the line out via the 3.5mm, it will also surprise you. It is a true line out. And I do enjoy switching on the upsampling to DSD function and line out to my desktop headphone amps. Whatever FiiO is doing with this upsampling, they are doing it well. :)

Can the Fiio M15 be used as a bt reciever with equilizer?
Dear friend,

The M15 can be used as a Bluetooth receiver but it doesn't have EQ adjustment like BTR5/BTR3K when working as Bluetooth receiver.

Best regards

From what I understand, informations are the same (aka: doesn't invent new things) but oversampling makes the job of reconstruction filters easier (aka: limit artefacts) and move the noise to the inaudible part of the spectrum (aka: above 15 or 20KHz or more depanding the sample rate), although I think it should already be almost inaudible in 24bits samples but, meh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Of course, all of this had to be taken with grain of salt but maybe it's not just marketing.
