all third-party apps can play bitperfect on the m11 pro

If that is the case, awesome, because not only is the Poweramp interface really nice to use, but also gapless play simply works as it is supposed to ...

The Stainless Steel model is a different beast! It sound more refined than the regular M11 Pro

I haven't compared the 2 side by side but seem to be enjoying the stainless one more then my previous alloy one. Maybe its in my head as looks and feels more premium or firmware changed or the stainless is actually helping :D

Your head or firmware update. Aluminium and copper are far better mediums for blocking external RF interference versus stainless, equally FiiO may have tweaked something.

It won't have helped having used 10 or so different daps inbetween too :D

Little similar, right now Sony's WM1A set to Japan region is lighting up the room, although wanting to try WM1Z and Quloos QA361 be rude not too...

As far as I know, PowerAmp does not support bitperfect.. So on the M11 PRO it cannot play hi-res files in their full & native format.. So it's strange that PowerAmp would sound better than stock. As far as I know next to the stock player, only the Neutron player can play bitperfect.
Thanks, I was not aware of the bit-perfect issues. I will check out Neutron as well. The poweramps does sound great esp when I check on the "Hi-Res Output (experimental direct hardware 24+ bit..." the sound change and goes slightly fuller, cleared and a little louder. Not sure what this Hi-res output is about.. it sound good overall.

A firmware patch to enable Google Play store in M11/M11PRO/M15 based on the SoC used--Samsung 7872

Download link: http://fiio-file.fiio.net/Google_Play_Update.zip

How to update: Copy the firmware package file to the internal memory or micro SD card; Open "Technical Support" app on the M11/M11PRO/M15->enter the "Firmware Update" menu->select the firmware package file to upgrade.

Note: The Google Play partial library will prompt for updates after connecting to the Wifi for the first time. Restart it so that you could use it normally.

What can be done if receiving 'the device is not certified' in Google Play?

Currently, Google has closed the channel of GMS certification for Android 7.0 devices. So you will be prompted that the device is not certified. You can register your device by following the steps below:
(The deivce without certification could use Google Play normally still, but some apps with high security requirements could not be searched. )

1. Install the DeviceID.apk

2. Click it to get the 'Google Service Framework' and then copy it

3. Go to the following website and fill in the ID copied from step 2
https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/

If you have any questions or advices, please post in this thread or send an email to support@fiio.com

Best regards
