In order to address your questions, here I share some plans of us as follows ( >> By James):

1. The M11 is FiiO’s first mid-to-high end M-series music player, and we will have 3 higher-end music players.

2. FiiO’s product development are based on platforms. Such as the M6/M7/M9 are all based on the Exynos7270, so the higher end music players will be based on 7872 and with configuration of 3G RAM and 5.15 inch 18:9 bezel-less display. While the main improvements would be more powerful DAC, operational amplifier, crystal oscillator, etc. Of course, big improvements on other functions may be included as well.

3. Our current plan is to release the other 3 higher-end music players in one year which started 4 months after the release of M11. But we can’t make any promise since there are too many factors involved, so we can never tell if there would be any unexpected things happen and delay the process.

4. For the M6/M7/M9, they are all selling very well and even go out of stock sometimes owing to the strong demands, so we don’t have any upgrade plan this year.

5. I noticed many customers both in China and abroad ask FiiO to step into the smartphone market. Thank you all for the encouragement. We do have the technology capability, but making smartphones is a game of the giant, and we FiiO is just like a tiny dust in front of those giants. Not to mention there was once somebody had made HiFi music player with SIM card and failed. So we should learn from the lessons and better not to give it another try.

6. As to buying advice, if you are not in tight budget, you can try all of them of course. But if you are in a tight budget, I think the M11 could be a very good choice. In addition, we have very strict market pricing management, M11 can keep its value for a very long time.

@FiiO
It looks great, but fix the standard problems before release, pls pls pls.
* micro gaps
* gapless playback

Bluttooth / wlan interfrence issues
and in FiiO music app, font problems, sorting algorithm (although that is not so important as the M11 is an open plattform and one can use other music players but it would be nice to get this at least for M6/9)

As i undestand M11 will be fully capable of playing LDAC at the same time with using WIfi. My m9 can't do this because of processor limitations. So Playing tidal using wifi and LDAC isn't possible as sound is stuttering and stopping.
Also wondering if 4493 will be an upgrade from 4490 used in m9.

Are the FiiO players still having issues with gapless playback? That's what held me off in the past. I kind of forgot about it until now, but I'll have to be a bit more reserved when this launches.

In my case, M7 and M9, YES!
In addition both players have the same issues -> micro gaps and gapless playback problems (it's NOT related to my music files...).
The M11 sounds nice, but I will never buy another FiiO until the basics are not fixed!
