500+ Head-Fier
Thanks for that. However, I meant experiences from real life tests with various impedance phones.
It would be interesting to see with what headphones everyone pairs their M11 with.
Does anyone know how powerful is the output? Up to what impedance headphones have you used the M11 with?
Can someone comment how SQ of the standard 3.5mm port compares to the balanced ones?
Hi.Can someone explain to the benefits of using 4.4 or 2.5 are they the same?
Can I just buy an adapter to benefit the use of my 4.4 mm ,paring these with BGVP DM6?
Much appreciated
HiHi.
They are basically the same (both balanced). The only real difference is the physical size. Prefer using the 4.4, the bigger contact surface ensure best signal transmission and better strengh/durability (2.5 is reported being fragile).
You can use any adapter between 2.5 to 4.4 or 4.4 to 2.5 (ensure the adapter, your headphones and the output are all balanced, unbalanced material will damage your balanced stuff if used together). In general, 3.5 output are unbalanced, do not use them with a 2.5 or 4.4 adapter if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing.
I bought a new cable for my Shure 846. I don’t believe it makes any audio difference, but the large plug seems sturdier.Hi
Thankyou for your reply, would I be better to buy a 4.4mm to MMCX cable then to rum from the M11 to my Dm6? Would that be a safer option?
If you are careful with your stuff, and already own a 2.5 plug, it may not be so useful. Even if one day in far futur your cable broke into 2.5 player's connection, you can still use 4.4 afterward hahaha.Hi

I am using an HE1000 V1 with mine and it is driving them nicely.
My advice... being new to balanced cables for IEMs I now have 2.5mm connectors, 4.4mm connectors, and angled 2.5mm to 4.4mm adapters... if your use is portable, and you carry your DAP in the front pocket of your pants, consider that the 4.4 connector sticks straight up. It is bulky, and as you sit or move about it will get somewhat uncomfortable and potentially put a lot of stress on the connector...Can someone explain to the benefits of using 4.4 or 2.5 are they the same?

Yes you have a good point, thank youMy advice... being new to balanced cables for IEMs I now have 2.5mm connectors, 4.4mm connectors, and angled 2.5mm to 4.4mm adapters... if your use is portable, and you carry your DAP in the front pocket of your pants, consider that the 4.4 connector sticks straight up. My solution of choice is now use cables with 2.5mm connectors and a right angle 2.5mm to 4.4mm adapter. You still get the larger 4.4mm surface area. You have no stress on the smaller 2.5mm plug as it is sitting horizontal just above the player. As a bonus, since most people have 2.5mm cables saves on new purchases.
Just a thought!
Wow. Very insightful. Thanks for sharing.I wont use this "smarphone like brick" as a portable device out of my doors instead of the Shanling M0. What to do with the M11 lying on the couch? Many people put the device on their stomach while looking at the screen... which is not comfortable when the headphone connections are on the lower side of the device.
Maybe students can use the big device as a table tennis racket in the breaks.
