Fiio LT-LT1 with Shanling UP2

Hello @koto-in !

Admittedly, I haven't used either device, but from what I'm reading, you don't need the LT-LT1 in this setup. You would pair the UP2 to the iPhone SE via Bluetooth, and plug your headphones/IEMs into the UP2. You would only need a cable like the LT-LT1 to charge the UP2, and in that use case, I don't think you can charge it from the iPhone SE.

Again, I haven't used either product, but from some quick looking at the product pages, this is my understanding.

I understand. While @Shanling might be able to chime in here, I speculate that you can only use the USB DAC functionality from a computer, as the specs on their product page specifically mentions "Can be connected to computer to serve as USB DAC". (And to be clear, I have not used the UP2 as of yet, so I can only refer to their product page for information.) You may need to connect to a computer for higher power output than your phone can provide.

EDIT: I was chatting with @AxelCloris, and he suggested using the Apple CCK to go from the Lightning port of your phone to a "USB-A to USB-C" cable, and into the UP2, as the iPhone may see the device as not needing the iPhone's power to operate.

UP2 is not designed to work with iOS devices. You can run it as USB DAC with Android or with WIndows/Mac.

This is a serious limitation which is not clearly indicated in the advertising. Has this been rectified in the UP5?
Only one of our products designed for direct use with iOS is our UA2 and it's marked on its product page. We never advertised UP2 as compatible with iOS over USB DAC.

But you also never explicitly advertised that it wasn't. I think this is a reasonable expectation considering that your products are designed to be used portably with iOS devices and are advertised as "Hi-Res". In effect, with the apparent exception of the UA2, your devices are not capable of playing "Hi-Res" Audio over iOS.

Our Bluetooth devices(UP2/UP5, MW200) are Hi-Res capable in connection to LDAC/LHDC codecs. It's unfortunate that Apple do not support anything above AAC.

I'm sorry if you were mistaken in any way regarding UP2 working as USB DAC with iOS.

The UP2 is a fantastic device for what it is, but with the advent of lossless streaming, the ability to connect such a device to the phone over the USB DAC becomes that much more desirable. The devices on the market that already possess this ability have now become much more attractive.
