Based on the few rough impressions I've been reading so far, descriptions of this cable sound somewhat similar to the the Effect Audio Lionheart. I haven't heard either personally, but based on everything I've been able to read thus far..

Both are reported to have a smooth and intimate sound quality, which translates into a reduction to some degree of the soundstage size.
But the Lionheart was praised as adding note weight, thickness, body, warmth and liquidity; a big injection of musicality overall.
From what I'm reading, the LC-RE seems to be bringing pretty similar qualities to the table.

Note that the Lionheart ($500) is made from gold-plated copper and silver-plated copper, so there's a similarity in the materials used. I've been considering to buy the Lionheart, but balking somewhat at the price.
At that kind of price, to some extent I'd rather just swing big and go for a used Horus or similar.
But this LC-RE seems to be offering similar qualitative changes to the Lionheart at an extremely reasonable price.

I think the only reason I'm hesitating is that I'd prefer to buy it from Amazon UK or a local audio gear website, and to my knowledge, it's not yet available here in the UK.

Could someone guess how this might compare with Dunu Hulk? Having trouble choosing one.
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/dunu-quick-switch-modular-plug-cables-discussion-thread.934000/

I can’t give you sonic feedback, but I did consider the Hulk and glad I waited. The Hulk is significantly heavier and less compliant but most importantly for me is that the completed jack assembly is ridiculously long ( 1” bigger). This has a very bad side affect of producing more torque on a DAP’s headphone jack or the 2.5mm plus if there is any tension in the cable. As the Hulk is also less compliant this compounds the problem. The FiiO’s total assembly is the size of just the plug portion of the Hulk but is still as sturdy in my opinion.

Any new impressions about sound quality? Soundstage is smaller to other cables?

I am working on a review but can say that there is not difference in stage size compared to other cables I have.

Thanks. Total size and torque of two plugs together are something I never looked into. Hulk might prove to be a threat to the physical ports of some DAPs when used while walking/running.

I would recommend you hang on until Xmas and after... EA do a 20% discount during holidays... I seem to recall they also do a Black Friday discount but I don’t think it as much as the 20%...

I would recommend the Lionheart if you’re after that specific sound signature....

@Fishdo
Hello and thanks for the advice!
Do you own (or have you heard) both the Lionheart and the LC-RE?
Would love to hear impressions/comparisons if so :)

Also waiting for the 2pin version to be available on Amazon.

Would the 2pin version work with Spiral Ear IEMs? They have a recessed socket so not sure the connector is small enough to fit in there.

Dear user,

According to the feedback from some users, the LC-RE could be compatible with some 0.78 headphones with recessed socket while our LS-2.5/3.5/4.4D not. If there are local store in your city, you could have a test there first: https://www.fiio.com/wheretobuy

Best regards

Where can I get one in the UK? As Usual ****ing Aliexpress won't send to Jersey, Channel Islands. FiiO, stop treating UK customers as second class citizens and make some stock available to your UK retailers.

Dear user,

The seller(AV shop) in UK did book some LC-RE from us before. But if you could not find it in Amazon, the cable may have sold out now.

As for the shipping in Aliexpress, we could send via DHL, FEDEX and some other shipping method. If you would like to buy, you could provide your address to us via Aliexpress. My colleague will help to check which shipping method could send to you.

Best regards
