I agree that the sound performance of this little device is excellent, but I have some really annoying problems with mine.
Often I hear interference when connecting to my Xiaomi MI 9 SE: I never imagined that such a device, originally designed to work with phones, would be prone to this kind of problem.
Despite installing the official driver, under Windows 10, playback is often interrupted: this happens both with foobar 2000 (once per minute at most) and with the Tidal application (4 to 8 times per minute!!).
It's unusable as is!
@FiiO, @FiiO Kang could my device be defective?

Dear friend,

Hi, please check the following steps for help first. And did you try another USB cables?

Music stutters on some Windows computers due to the driver
(1) It is due to the different power management policies of some computers.
Please go to the settings menu of Control panel->Hardware and Sound->Power options to disable the "USB selective suspend setting" and then restart the computer.
(2) If the problem still exists, please go to the Power options->PCI Express and turn off Link State Power management.
(3) If it still can't be solved, please choose the driver-less mode. Uninstall the DAC driver and ASIO, and then choose the KA5 as the output device.

Best regards

Thank you for your quick assistance.
The (1) solved my issue on Windows 10 : thanks a lot !
I will try another usb-c to usb-c cable to see if it is improving interference shielding and will keep you posted.
FYI, the interference issue I've decribed earlier occurs with the cable provided in the box.

There seems to be much less interference with another cable. Too bad the one provided isn't better shielded.

I've just bought an android tablet, which runs Android 12 : the device is not recognized in UAC 2, only in UAC 1, wich prevent it to be used bit-perfectly .... I am really unpleasantly surprised.

Just curous any preference to the colouration of the sound?
Also what kind of music and headphone/iem are you using.
i dont have a preference on the coloration of sound. maybe a lil warmness. I listen to all from classical to metal. As far as headphones, im actually trying choose one of following:

1-NF Audio NA2+

2-NF Audio NM2+

3-Truthear Nova

4-LetShuoer S12 Pro

5-hifiman RE800

6-Hidi MP145

7- MOONDROP KATO

im not sure what to go with but might go with Nova unless there is better choice i can make

I own the ka5, fc4 and ka13.

Ka5 isn’t powerful enough, but sounds great.
Fc4, plenty of power and sounds great.
Ka13 best power and sounds good.

If it were me I’d buy the ka17.
