Hello, I want to ask, will the KA17 be able to drive the Ananda Stealth in portable version? Or do I need use it in desktop version
Dear friend,

The KA17 could drive this headphone theoretically when desktop mode is off. But with desktop mode, you could get higher output power from the KA17.
Parameter for your reference: https://www.fiio.com/KA17_parameters

Best regards

I've tried using the search, but maybe not choosing the right words. Is it OK to have the KA5 permanently plugged into my PC? Originally I was looking at the KA5 to use with my Sony A306 as it has quite a low output, but I realised I can get more use from my PC to justify the purchase. I have other devices but they are set up for other uses, and it's a hassle everytime I want to watch YouTube or demo some music.

I can't see why not. When not playing music is idling.

Thanks, just wondered if there may be a reason it might be advised against. I'd forgot to add it won't always have an iem plugged in, so should be good.

The only problem would be if that dongle uses energy when is in idle. I am not sure if all these dongles (not only ka5) have a stand by state because in all measurements show the same battery consumption irrespective of playing of music except if the PC will be shut down.

Is always better to double check by touching it and observe the tempature of the dongle if it is cool or warm.

Tomorrow I will also get my KA5. No Bluetooth connection had satisfied me. I even had the PX8 from Bowers & Wilkins. Now I'm reactivating my Sony monitor headphones, which are already 9 years old. I'm expecting a huge gain from this. I use an iPhone 15 Pro Max and will connect the KA5 directly via USB-C. I hope it's loud enough, does anyone have an iPhone 15 series plus the KA5?

I use an iPhone 14 have used the KA5 with it a few times. It sounds like music to my ears. And no stoopid MQA!
