Fiio. Please can you comment on my extensive list of issues for this device. E.g. No proper controls in the app for anything other than eq. No play/pause option for multifunction button, or track skip for volume buttons. Random disconnects and device not detected warnings. When (or if) will these be fixed please - especially no play/pause for multifunction. I love your devices but having the button do mute/unmute and not play/pause is a crazy crazy design decision... Unless it is some kind of hardware limitation due to ess dac. The ka5 had none of these problems. Thanks.

When I get home I’ll have to check out my other dongles, but I’m almost certain that having only volume buttons on wired dongles is pretty common, so the lack of additional functions on the dongle itself does not seem to be unusual. I don’t remember any of my wired dongles having play/pause functionality, but I’ll check.

Dongles that have both wired and Bluetooth functionality (like the BTR7) do have more controls like play/pause because those are needed as part of operating as a Bluetooth device away from the source.

I just received my KA17 and used it only sparingly, but so far I am not experiencing any issues with it.

I am quite surprised by the lack of functionality in the app. Something looks wrong there - maybe it will be addressed in an upcoming release.

2. Because of hardware limitation, only the EQ adjustment function could be added for KA17 in the FiiO Control app. You could adjust the settings menu in the KA17 directly.

What hardware limitations? This is supposed to be your flagship dongle yet it seems to be a step backwwards from the KA5 in usability at least.

OK thanks. As I suspected a significant downgrade in functionality in every possible way versus the ka5. Heavier, more battery drain, larger, uglier (imo) no app support, no play/pause, no skip track. All it does is add more power, although barely more than the ka13. Personally I feel loyal customers have been lied to by early reviewers. You really screwed up with this release fiio. I will be returning this misadvertised device. Flagship my ass.

Anyone who is pissed about the lack of control support for this cluster**** of a device, I suggest you install Volumee on android. It allows you to use phone buttons to play/pause and skip track. If you set it up and buy the app for a couple of dollars. I use 600ms hold on up volume to play/pause. And down volume to slip track. God I'm mad I wasted my money on this bad device.

It's laughable that the ka13 is objectively better in almost every category than ka17 for true portable use except 100mw less power. It's cheaper, more efficient, lighter, smaller, and has skip track on vlomue buttons. Sound is almost identical even in a/b testing oh and it's almost half the price. Anyone in the uk want to buy a barely used ka17? Lol

Very generous of you there. I think a huge step back in functionality is more than a little disappointing. They never should have released this device with an ess dac if it broke everything that was good about the ka5.
