Just got my Fiio K7 today and have been trying it out for most of the day
Still a bit too early for me to tell to how much better than my old RHA L1 DACAMP it is but i can tell its better

Dont think i have heard so much detail and depth in this song before

One thing i am really happy about is the fact that it has one cable for data another one for power and not both in the same like my old RHA L1

The lose connection in the RHA L1 would effect both data and power or in other words if i moved it even a little bit it would lose connection
It would also make crackling sounds when nothing was going on which was really annoying

I think i might be more limited by my Sennheiser HD-599´s than the DAC/AMP

So far i am very happy with the K7 and the problems i was afraid of are not really a major issue
Really do wish i could change the color from cyan to red

I have not read this entire thread, so excuse me if this has been answered already.

How does the K7BT compare to the BTR7?

I have no idea which one to get. I realize one is portable and one is not. But based on the price point I would assume the K7BT is the better amp?

I would be using this with HD 600's and a balanced cable.

Dear friend,

Thanks for your interest in our product.
Both K7 BT and BTR7 are using QCC5124 chips. The BTR7 has battery which K7 BT requires power supply.
And you could check their parameters page here:
https://www.fiio.com/k7_parameters
https://www.fiio.com/btr7_parameters
If you would like to get a protable one, the BTR7 would be better. But if you would like one with higher output power, the K7 BT is more suitable.

Best regards

Oh interesting hello FiiO people. I suppose then the K7 BT is a safer bet for the future depends on which headphones I may end up buying.

Thanks!

Anyone facing ground noise with K7 (usb) and monitor speakers (kali lp6v2) through rca? With my previous dac same setup connection etc no ground noise. I had to connect my K7 with the pc though optical to minimize the noise. Through headphone no noise problems. Thank you in advance.

Does anyone know where I could get some kind of schematic/layout of the Fiio K7. I want to try to replace the capacitors with film capacitors and increase the values of some for better bass. Even just which ones I could look at replacing and which ones shouldn't be changed or be given an increased capacity would be amazing (maybe even better since I haven done something like this before). Thanks a lot in advance! (Ps. It's also just because some of them have been getting really hot and I thought bigger ones might do good in those areas, thanks again)

(Pss. I also thought that increasing the capacity of some of them may get rid of a crackling issue that I've been having when pushing the volume up, I have te non Bluetooth version.)

K7 with Audeze LCD-XC

This is a great pairing. The K7 is impressing me with its taught bass, 3D sound stage, realistic vocals and crisp snares and hi-hats. I am using a Regulated Linear Power Supply to get the extra micro details. This is my bass heavy playlist:

What Regulated Linear Power Supply are you using for?
I have borrowed a heavy old bench type LPS with variable output.

I have ordered a LPS from Aliexpress for $100 CDN. Will report on it when it arrives and is burned in for a few days.

Can you link it?
I cannot recommend the LPS I ordered without using it first. Go to Aliexpress and have a look. The FiiO PL50 is there as well on special right now ($181 CDN).

I can recommend the Fiio PL50 too. I am using it for the K7. The only negative thing: power switch on the rear of the power supply.
