This is normal operation. What you are hearing is the relay switch for your particular input being "engaged/activated".
On my K7BT, I do not hear a relay inside when turning the unit on or switching inputs, but I am used to audio equipment having relays inside that I can hear. I am guessing relays provide a better internal connection (audio path) than some sort of digital/transistor switch.

Could also be a mute circuit while inputs are being changed... FiiO is good at this.

hi .... hmm i saw a support stand for k9 , does the k7 have it too?

or maybe someone tried to do so 3d printing for it?
I don’t think the dimensions of the K7 really justify the need for one. If turned on its side, it is much less likely to fall over (less top heavy when on its side) than the K9 or K9 Pro. It is more “blocky” in that way - more “squared off” (no I know it’s not a square, but compared to the K9/K9 Pro, it is much closer).

Yes, no benefit in flipping it (K7) over.

lol, its matter on my small office table
i have monitor stand on the table , and all audio interface & other audio peripheral used to be under the stand , but the k7 too thick to fit there with other item and if i can place it vertically i can put it in more convenience place than now

A small glass/Aluminium base + 3M tape would solve your problem, the base would better support the k7 in the new position.

I understand that - I was simply trying to say that you can probably place it vertically *without* a stand, and it will be OK. It is much less likely to fall over without one than a K9 or K9 Pro would.

Is it normal to hear a click just after turning on the K7?
Dear friend,

Yes. In the quick stat guide you could read about that:
'Turn the "Power/Volume" knob until a click sound is heard to turn on the device'

Best regards

The new FiiO K7 BT was just reviewed by @Headfonia and they have given it their Recommended Buy Award.

Taking into account the K7 BT’s features, build quality, and the components housed within its chassis, it’s clear that this DAC & AMP is a highly competitive offering in the current market, offering excellent value for money. The K7 BT is the upgrade that the K7 needed. Its wireless performance is outstanding, with almost no impact on sound quality, and it adds new features to the already comprehensive suite that the K7 offers.

Colour me interested… can anyone with a FiiO M11 Plus and one of these tell me if this is an upgrade compared to the DAP, and if so, a cursory word as to how?

Different sound signature, more organic and analogue in timbre. Less treble edge and sharpness. Way more powerful, can drive your full sized cans with ease and is more impactful and dynamic.
