Yes and it’s also listed in the manual.. so probably mandatory for the bass boost.

Do you have any different tips to try with the smaller nozzle? Wonder if some Final E tips would fit it? Might give you some extra bass boost without needing to shove all those flanges in your ears (I too can't stand deep insertion iems either).

The FD5 includes 2 sound tubes which are changeable.
1.Large sound tube (preinstalled on FD5): the outer diameter is 5.8mm, suit 4-5mm ear tips.
2.Small sound tube (included in accessories): the outer diameter is 4.0mm, suit 2.0-3.5mm ear tips.
The large sound tube is balanced, while the small sound tube presents a lively, more bass-focused sound.
*The small sound tube should be used with the triple-flange ear tips, for deeper insertion and better sound quality.

Best regards

You dont necessarily need the tri-flange to get a bit more bass. Its possible there are other tips you can use with the smaller nozzle that will give you more bass, just not as much as shoving those triflanges in your ear.

Shells have weight. Substantial beauty and style in the build. I just popped the box open just now took one pic and they are in my ears with my M15 of course. This combo sounds really good. Almost like they were made for one another. Lol

Out of the box as promised. Sound balancing is superb. Clean airy excellent detail from treble to bass. These do sound like they are semi open. Sound is mature with a great sense of space. Love this cable it comes with. The whole package is supreme. I can honestly say Fiio does the open box experience justice.

These sound great. For the folks that just bought these. Rest assured I think your gonna like.

These look promising. I was looking for something with a more open sound. I already have many great IEMs but except for E5000 and maybe Sony N3 they all sound pretty closed in. Curious how these compare to those and maybe the upcoming Final A4000. Also curious if they handle spacial positioning for gaming well?
