AlieExpress says 16 days for USA delivery. I'll just wait for Amazon USA. With tax in the USA my price will be $266.88, so less than AliExpress price with DHL shipping. Does AliExpress offer expedited shipping and if so how much is it? I was unable to sign in to AliExpress; tells me to try later.

If you type in FH5s at Amazon USA it shows in the search results, but when you click on it you only see FH5. Would be nice to know how long before Amazon USA has them in stock.

i find the use of the TWFK-30017 an interesting choice, alongside the dynamic driver for mids (very interested in mids impressions)...

in the previous model (FH5), the description quotes: "Mid frequencies are produced by the Knowles ED30262 balanced armature driver, while high and ultra-high frequencies are created by the Knowles 31082 (greatly improved over the 30017) – specifically tuned to squeeze every last bit of performance from them."

also in the FH7, the description states that the TWFK30017 was tweaked to deliver fuller mids and vocals.

combining these points, i wonder if FiiO found a way to tune the 30017 in the other direction to bring out better highs than the ED30262's? pure speculation on my part, but i eagerly await impressions....2DD + 2 BA is quite a unique setup

On AliExpress, the $259.99 USD includes Express (via DHL) shipping; that's why the ETA is 16 days. Normal "free" shipping can take anywhere from 4 -7 weeks

Do you live in a state where AliExpress collects local sales tax ?

Not sure if I have to pay tax on AliExpress. Haven't been able to sign in on my Amazon Fire tablet to check. I would still rather wait for Amazon USA to avoid any potential problems.

The FH5s will be sent via DHL if you bought from Aliexpress. So the price there is higher then the MAP in US market.

If there are local sellers in your countries, it is recommended to buy from the local seller instead of the Aliexpress store.

@FiiO I'm curious as to why the FH5s uses TWFK-30017 (from F9 PRO) when TWFK-31082 is supposed to be the newer version which was used in FH5 ?

And is the beryllium coated diaphragm in FH5s a DLC diaphragm like FD5, or some other material?

In terms of high frequencies, the time-tested Knowles 30017 BA was used for less high-frequency loss and better extension, giving the FH5s its exquisite treble.
The diaphragm of FD5's 12mm dynamic driver is using beryllium-coated diamond-like carbon (DLC).
And the FH5s is using 6mm beryllium-plated diaphragm dynamic drivers+12mm beryllium-plated+PU gasket dynamic driver instead.

Yeah, does look like the 30017 has more lower treble. But the upper-treble roll-off looks worrying.

The masses have only been able to order them starting yesterday. Maybe some reviewers have them in-hand already.

I was going to blindly order the FH5s but the price shell game was a buzzkill. This being the second price shift on FiiO IEMs in a very short time period leaves me wary of FiiO. They have damaged my trust.
