[FiiO FD7/FDX] 12mm dynamic driver with its diaphragm using pure beryllium, with an outer-magnet field, up to 1.5 Tesla magnetic flux.

I kinda like him sometimes but to evaluate a dynamic driver set with a very tight surround (because of the very strong magnet) right out of the box is a complete waste of time. The FD3 opened up on the top and the bottom quite a bit after 50+ hours.

Terrible. I'm in Mexico AND I want to buy but it won't be FiiO with these prices. Example: The FH7 is $399 in the US but $628 in Mexico. Are they crazy???

Where did you saw that price? If you learn how to shop, you’ll end up with better prices than the US and Europe, its just a matter of knowing where to and who to (basically AliExpress and dealing with the seller for taxes) please don’t pm me with questions, that’s basically it. Check for free fedex or Dhl, message the seller about taxes and check for promos. As well learn how to shop, don’t buy stuff just cause its hyped

Soooooo good review .. love the process .. congrats for this fluidity !!! Anyhow as already mentioned in the thread the high bass low/mid tilt could be a matter of preference for some .. as for me these might not be my first choice .. nevertheless needs to be given a listen

I think what @AlexCBSN was trying to say is that there are sometimes more than one way to buy a product. Instead of just saying bye bye to FiiO, instead say bye bye to the particular seller / sales channel. Don’t take it personally that a particular seller is trying to sell at a higher price, just don’t give them your money.

Anyway, it is just a suggestion. More importantly it is your money and you should do with it what you want to.

Doesn't work that way in most developing countries unfortunately as they easily add $100 for "importing" from another country, that's why I prefer to get around that by buying local. However, there's only one place to do so here. Bummer...

so the layering and imaging is somewhat i would say similar focal utopia. stage is out of your head. very neutral. bass is tight n punchy but less than fd5. the highs seems further back but still detailed. not my preferred presentation but others will like it. it seems it is a pure one 😄. 👍 so far. but i just used out of box with dx300 max.

value for money for sure.

maybe it needs to be burned in just like my fd5 for the bass.

it not as intense as odin for sure this one is more relax like the hd800s kind. iems nowadays just sound more and more like high end headphones. just my noob impression on fd7.
How's the soundstage compared to FD5?

I am sorry, I didn't realize that challenge! I think I have read elsewhere of forwarders that will, for a fee, forward to you a purchase so that you are buying it locally in another location. Not sure how taxes would work there, but might be an option!

Also, as has been suggested, check AliExpress as there might be an option there.

Good luck!!

yeah, i use forwarders whenever i buy from sites that doesnt export to Mexico (hello DROP) as well when they don’t want to change tax fees for importation, there’s a way around, nobody adds 100 bucks out of nowhere, again, if you know how to buy, you can get whatever and for good price. I mean, i live in Frkn Mexico, of course i buy stuff all the time

At least Aliexpress isn't going to take the risk as they tell me to sort it out at the post office! And Linsoul confirmed yesterday they can't deliver what I want. You mentioned Drop already. Any other worthy contenders?

I have bought from linsoul many times, after 200 usd they use dhl for shipping free of charge, aliexpress there's some sellers that send free expedited (shenzhenaudio, brightaudio sometimes, etc) if you talk witb the seller they'll declare less than 50usd.

Wey en serio, echale tres pesos de ganas y busca

Linsoul doesn't have the FH7 and I'm awaiting an answer from Shenzhen Audio.

FD7 in the house. I have been burning these in for 24 hours straight with my best burn in tracks. The sound from last night to today is clearly audible. No way was the stage as good as I am hearing them now last night on open listen.

The FD7 out of the 3 dynamics is clearly playing on a different level. Has the widest stage out of the 3. As wide as the stage was on the FD5. FD7 is wider, partially due to the pure silver cable and partially due to the sheer resolving ability of pure Beryllium.

The FD7 is the best balanced tuning out of the 3. Folks worried about bass bleed and such have nothing to worry about. The bass is boosted but is not overly cooked. In fact it has a very natural rich slightly warm tonality to it that I find fantastic. I can tell the driver being used is superior to anything Fiio has ever used in the past. Combine that with one of their best balancing, default nozzle and you get a very enjoyable sound.

Not only is the width of sound the greatest I have heard to date by a Fiio made earphone but so is the height and depth of sound. It trounces over the FD3 in that regard. FD5 gets closer but really the strength of pure Beryllium is a sense of stage and air that is unmistakable. It does have a slight vocal lift which is a good thing. Treble is well behaved this time yet detailed and it does have some authoritative bass with really good texture as pure Berylliums does bass extremely well.

Imaging is also the best I have heard from a Fiio dynamic, really its strengths are its technical ability with a non fatiguing sound. It has a safe tuning but it can do that and still give you the goods as far as detail goes. Again its imaging is the best I have heard from a Fiio dynamic. Mids timbre is accurate and tonally very pleasing to hear. Bass end has enough emphasis to make bass genres shine. Its balancing is very good to where if you listen to a large variety of music as I do. These are right up your alley.
To me it is simple. If you love your dynamic sound. Your dealing with a true full beryllium dynamic for not even half the cost of some of the big players. It will come down to what type of sound your going for. I will have more to say with more burn in time but so far so good. I haven't gotten around to trying out all the different nozzles. Will do that soon.

So one very positive aspect I can report here is that the FD7 responds extremely well to aftermarket cables. Its included 4 core pure silver cables was a design choice to enhance detail of the FD7. This being said they sound even better with higher end aftermarket cables. Again this shows how resolving these drivers are. I am sure we are just scratching the potential of the FD7 here but. POTENTIAL is the word I will leave with you guys as these will ramp up with better sources and your best cables.
And please for the love of GOD. BURN YOUR DAMN BERYLLIUM DYNAMICS in.
