I was ready to buy them this morning. But Amazon US is now out of stock with no estimate on when they may get more.

we should ship enough F9 to U.S and other oversea market at the end of this month.

Kepp rocking, James!

Me loves that F9 a lot!

You guys keep redefining how a 100$ IEM should sound like and I am happy for it!

All music lovers probably are just as happy!

F9 being this good at 100$ will mean that 300$ IEMs need to get even better to consolidate their position, and this means that us, consumersm, win!

Fiio's FB rep told me they'd have the F9 back on Amazon in about a week. That was like four days ago. I went to buy them as soon as I had the money and they were gone (they were available the day before).

The F9 currently on Amazon is the fixed-cable version.

Any update on when we might see the Pros? I want to pull the trigger, but I'm holding off until they make an appearance.

The F9pro will launch market in Nov. so far everything go smooth.

Finally got my F9 in red last night.
Took them out today. Liking them a lot. Only used the smoked coloured tips so far.
Compared to my xba-1, I didn't find the isolation as good. Oddly the fit was amazing, even though the small tips where much bigger than the smallest xba-1.
The tips sit outside of my ear canals, and seal is up complete. They don't go in. I guess my canals are abnormally small. But it seams to work out and they comfortable.
I've noticed that the middle range is muffled out more. I can still hear the deep hums of the subway (Toronto, bloor line, yonge/uni line is better), buses, and ppl talking sound like a distance echo.
Is this common, or is it 'cus the tips don't go inside my ear canals?
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Did not expect the cable to feel so rubbery, but I'm kinda finding it useful. Will take some time getting use to though.

I see some ppl talking about BT cables. I'm also interested. They be nice to have during the winter when wearing bulky jackets.
I like the style of the Beat X. The seam balanced weight wise and very clean and simple. Is it possible to make the section behind the neck the same material and the stuff that wraps around the ear? I feel, imo, that it would help it stay in place better (the tiniest amount of weight/ stiffness would make a big difference), like a light weight version of those neck band style BT headsets.
Just a theory. I have no industrial engineering experience. Just guessing lol
Sorry if this post is long.

Quick review:
I had just picked up the F9 the other day and they simply sound amazing. I was originally considering getting the Magaosi K3 HD after much research but came across the Fiio F9 instead. After a bit more consideration I decided to spring for the the F9 instead, absolutely no regrets. I am by no means an audiophile but I do consider myself a small enthusiast, previously owning good value IEMs and earbuds such as SE215, Xiaomi Piston 2s, and Xiaomi Hybrids. I do have audiophile friends though which frequently let me test out their gear though.

The lows/mids/highs are clearly distinct and the the bass is solid without covering up mids and highs. Upon putting on the set to try at the store and playing some of usual music I was shocked to hear how clear and separated everything was. Nothing sounded muddy or mixed together and I thought the shop owner had accidentally given me some crazy expensive pair of buds. First impression and continuous use over the past few days with music, movies, games, etc. on my phone as well as on my PC using Fiio E-10K were all good. Music included FLACs and normal MP3s via PowerAMP on phone and via Foobar WASAPI on PC.

I have tried with the mid sized tips and like the two-colored bass versions better. I also tried with comply TS-200s and have to say that they are ever slightly better than the two-colored stock ones due to better isolation. The two-colored ones provide a decent enough seal to be about 90% as good as the comply tips but doesn't take a good 30 seconds to put on. Considering if I should try spinfits as they are similar in design to the stock two-colored ones but with supposedly better seal.

The cables that come with it are very nice although I wasn't able to test the balanced 2.5mm cable due to lack of source. The 3.5mm SE cable is more than decent nevertheless. The rubber isn't hard and doesn't feel cheap and the design feels sturdy. The over-the-ear hooks are not memory plastic like the stock shure cables but are instead bent more inwards to follow the edge of the back of your ears (think springy). For some it may feel uncomfortable over long periods but seems to be alright for me. I have also tried with my old Fiio RE-SE1 cable (which I had to file down due to large MMCX connector head) and didn't really notice too much of a difference to be honest. The stock cable is way more practical on the go especially considering microphonics and the included control/mic.

Design/Aesthetics wise, the sandblasted metal finish on the IEM is fantastic. I very much prefer and appreciate that no text/logo was printed on the actual IEMs themselves. the angle of the nozzle were a great fit for my ear canal and the only real (small) complaint is the tight angle on the MMCX connector which required filing/shaving down some MMCX cables with larger heads. The in-line remote/mic, Y-splitter (which does have FIIO printed on it but not a big deal), and 3.5mm jack connector are similarly sand blasted like the buds themselves. The included waterproof box was a small bonus even though it's a little big to bring around. Overall nothing in the package felt cheap or skimped out on.

In conclusion, for $950HKD ($120 USD) I don't think there is anything really serious to complain about for what you're getting. I've always been a big fan of FIIO products for their quality to price ratios. This time I also wasn't disappointed and would highly recommend these for anybody looking for a new pair of IEMs at this price range.

I did see that there was a Pro version coming up that uses Knowles drivers before making this purchase but everything I've read about the F9 is already positive and I didn't want to wait a little longer for something that could be quite a bit pricier but not provide a relatively upgrade. James, would you be able to give more details on the Pro version? Approximately how much more it'll cost? Any changes to the overall package/accessories?
