I am thinking about buying the Fiio E5 for my m50's, has any one ever tryed the E5 with the m50? Is the E5 worth it?

But if you have same extra money get a Cmoy..
It is by far better from a E5...

I own the E5 and have used it with my Beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium (32 Ohm) and Sennheiser HD 650 -- sorry, no M50. It has excellent fidelity (in my opinion.)
 
It's been great for music. It won't always go as loud as I want for some Blu-Ray discs when attached to my BD player. And, I don't ever crank the volume to deafening levels ... except to see what it will do.
 
Its major limitations are its limited gain and a tendency to clip when, with a hot source, its volume control is set high.
 
It's the best $20 piece of equipment I've bought.

You don't need an amp for the ATH-M50... They're pretty easy to drive and even sound pretty good off an iPod.

This thread was started last year, so by now we have the better E6. Good with M50 too IMO

i heard the e6 is more crisp and e5 gives more bass, is that accurate?

If you wanted both you could get the E7, as we all know the E7 can be used as a desktop setup due to its DAC

I don't know about that since I've only heard the E6. But its bass is plenty to me. Anymore bass and I'd drop my jaw so ...

"pretty good" isnt what hes looking for. If i wanted pretty good id buy hesh 2.0 which sound better with mobile devices. Oh wait, i already did buy it
