I currently use the FiiO E07k and E12 combo for my desktop and portable needs. The headphones I only need amping for is the AKG Q701 and Fostex T50RP.

I haven't "been there" in terms of hearing my Q's and T50's with a high-end amplifier, and I'm pretty satisfied with the E12.

However, will the Aune T1 be a decent upgrade? I'm not looking into spending more than $200 on an amplifier.

Never heard Aune but look at littledot.net. They have amps for less than 200dollars. Mk3 is a nice tube amp.

I have the Aune and I really like it. I love that the USB DAC uses the tube so if you want to tube roll you can no problem! Plus it sounds good, powers headphones good, and looks good.
