it was sealed in plastic and they just got it in stock. Bloom is the best, they sell returned items as open box. They are a very ethical and customer service forward company. I try to give them all my audio business. It's the latter option.

After moving from BTR5 to BTR17, really missing a proper clip. Would like to see a case with clip, like BTR7. Was disappointed to see that this (for me) long awaited release comes with a snap fastner. And on top of that no lanyard included. It's like Fiio deliberately planned for us to drop the new BTR17 on the floor.

I was literally just looking online to see if I could find a case with a clip for the BTR17, this snap on thing is a total downgrade. It's actually a fairly big quality of life issue as I know myself, and I am assuming a decent amount of people, use the clip for security. the snap thing is a total failure.

A clip case like the BTR7 has would be nice but for now I just put a small carabiner on the stock case and hang it on one of the belt loops on my shorts.
I'm glad to hear that you received your BTR17 with the latest firmware pre-installed from the factory, sparing you the challenging process of multiple installations that many of us had to endure.
How is the sound quality with your 64 Audio Volür on Bluetooth?

I opted for this kind of solution. Good thing is that I can access the device without unclipping it, at expense of potentially stretching out clothing long-term. But good thing is that the short size of the clip makes it more safe not to scratch the BTR17 or damage its screen. Still, would have preferred a case with built-in clip like BTR7.
So far definitely liking this evolution of the BTR7 for the most part. The interface is much better with the volume wheel and dedicated forward and reverse buttons. One thing I would love is to be able to turn a double press of the volume knob into skipping a track vs launching voice command for the phone. The Go Blu has that interface and it's so easy because the volume knob is the easiest thing to locate by feel without looking at the device, thus making it super easy to skip tracks, the most common thing I do at least, while listening to music, besides adjusting the volume.
The lack of a clip on the case is a bit of an issue.
Also sometimes I get static when restarting a song. I have to close out Tidal and re-open to then sound normal again. This is on stock android 15 on a P9Pro. I'll have to look back at this thread and see if this is a current bug. I disabled LDAC and am using Aptx HD which is my go to codec.
I do like the display screen better than the BTR7 as well.
However, as is common in ChiFi devices, the battery already seems wack. Fully charged it seems to last for a good long time, but then drops from 80% rather fast. Then while it's in the 30% range and played for another half hour, it then just powers off. I find this an issue with a lot of ChiFi stuff with batteries, the battery gauge is useless, they die when showing over 20% battery life, and the battery life is never as good as advertised, or close enough.
