Not really you get this in dmode with the new firmware now with a single usb, thats only if that USB can deliver the power needed ofc.You would still need it to crank up the volume for difficult to drive cans probably.

We are not sure if the D.Mode with power cable and the D.Mode without power cable provide the same power. Not really you get this in dmode with the new firmware now with a single usb, thats only if that USB can deliver the power needed ofc.
It took me twice to update the fw on the new one and 3 or 4 times on the first update.Updated to the new firmware v0.62. I had to try many times before succeded. I still can't set the volume during a phone call. There is the phone call icon on the display but when I rotate the volume know - incoming or outgoing call - the volume doesn't change! The phone is a Samsung S23 Ultra. Please fix it!
I've been in the fiio Q15 thread for two days. There are many problems there too, and there are still unresolved problems. Fiio needs to slow down on products and focus on software. The products are very good, the price is very good, the hardware is very good, but the firmware and software are making us tear our hair out. I hope they can sort everything out.Updated to the new firmware v0.62. I had to try many times before succeded. I still can't set the volume during a phone call. Agreed, Hardwares and "niche-ness" made FiiO standouts among Competitors.I've been in the fiio Q15 thread for two days. There are many problems there too, and there are still unresolved problems. Maybe Fiio should make the Control app and Firmwares open source. A hero among us who understands these matters must fix these problems.
Thanks for the update!
An issue still remains, where the harmonic distortion compensation setting does not work properly. It always gets set back to 2/2 (odd/even order harmonics) after closing and opening the FiiO Control app again.
We would also need some clarification regarding the usage of the additional USB-C port. Are there two version of D.MODE now, like one using the main USB-C port, and another if you plug an additional power supply in the extra USB-C port? Are there different levels of power from using the main port vs. using both ports?
Thanks.
In the Fiio Control app on iOS, the Distortion Compensation setting remains the same and does not change on its own. I tried it today by chance. Also the interface there looks more polished and easy.Yeah, no more replies...
I guess we just have to go along and make do.
This looseness has been discussed since the beginning of the topic. It is a bit loose but solid. It even works without any problems even though I dropped it right on top of it. So don't worry and enjoy the music, the sounds...How is everybody's volume wheel?
Mine is a little wobbly and i wanted to know If this is normal
At this point it would be very useful if there was without a doubt an indication on how utilised the BTR17 is. I want to know without experimenting once I get my BTR17.Have tried both scenarios for the DM mode- using only main USB via my phone and with power bank.
With power bank the DM mode sounds more powerful, with more punchy bass and less forward mids.
The DM mode with PC ON and only connected to a phone sounds more like a Super High Gain.
Utilising the second USB and a power bank with the Phone setting, the sound is more spacious, has around 10 more volume steps and is more desktop-like.
EDIT: there is almost no volume difference but the rest stays as i wrote. With power bank the sound is more punchy and neutral in mids.
