If you manage, it's not critical, just curious. I have it in order anyway so I'll be able to try myself in a few days. It's not critical to my planned use of them, but I think I might find it useful. So just wondering as to whether it works that way for USB (which I also plan to use), or it's just the optical input.

Question: when connected to a PC via USB, can the BTA30Pro transmit Bluetooth and output optical/coax/line out simultaneously? Or does "bypass" only work specifically for the optical input?

I can report that as soon as I toggle from DAC mode to BT TX mode, the optical output signal will be visibly cut, regardless of which input I'm on.

With a wish to increasing the bluetooth range of the bta30 pro, I changed out the stock antenna for a miccus x7 long range antenna. The increase in range was minimal but the improvement in sound quality is immense! Much more clarity which I attribute to reduction in noise levels. Using the fiio utws 5 with shouer tapes. Don't think so...I did an A/b comparison...anyways I only shared it here incase someone wants to give it a go. Its only 10 bucks. At worst you'll just end up with a slightly better range!

It's possible that a higher gain antenna would give a more stable connection, which if using an adaptive codec (LDAC in the adaptive mode, or aptX adaptive) could lead to a higher bitrate. You could test this using LDAC with something like the Qudelix 5K which displays the actual bitrate. I get 909 pretty solidly with either my phone or the BTA30 (I have the Qudelix locked to 44.1kHz).

Hard to see how that would apply here though as I don't think any of the codecs supported by the UTWS5 are adaptive, it supports aptX HD rather than aptX adaptive.

Outside of adaptive codecs that vary their bitrate, differences in signal noise in Bluetooth don't present as analog noise, they tend to present as glitches or pops, momentary cut outs. This can certainly be audible, but it's not a subtle perceived difference in clarity. You get this with interference, or at the extremity of the range.

Quick update on a small antenna mod that I've done to my BTA30 pro.

I have added a metre long RP-SMA SMA cable to position the antenna higher and away from my PC. I didn't notice any drop or increase in signal distances with the added cable. I wanted to have the unit closer at hand to easily access the buttons/switch while keeping the antenna high and away from the PC's radiated electrical noise. It's a cheap mod for about a dollar. The plug-end that goes into the BTA30 pro must have the centre-terminal protruding out. YMMV as usual.

Hi, I have the issue that it's not connecting to headsets it previously was connected to. (It just recognized automatically the last device)
Devices in use: Sony WH-1000XM4 and Qudelix5k. It's the same with both. Have to pair again to get the previously connected to work.

This was not a problem with the Non-Pro version. I could just tap the pad on the Sony, or the play/pause button on the BTA30 Non-Pro.

I also am a little disappointed that I cannot automatically change from optical to usb (or reverse) as the Non-Pro. (had HTPC on USB and Optical in my Set top box (tv))
I now have to walk to the BTA-30 Pro and manually click the input selector
(Why no remote control option with the app for example?)

Edit: I'm on v1.12 beta firmware.

Answer to 1.:
I have tried everything, several times. Sony first, Qudelix first, reset to default, deleted pairing, tapped the Sony pad etc etc.
The BTA30 Pro will never connect to the previous device.

As of now, the NON-PRO is a better device, except missing the USB 32bit-384kHz capability.

Please help me fix this, or I have to return it to Amazon (and that's not easy when I'm in Norway....)

Ok, so I tried again.

1. Reset both the BTA30 Pro, Sony XM4s and the Qudelix5k to default settings/deleted pairing.
2. Paired the Sony XM4s successfully. Connected everytime I turned it off and on again.
3. Paired the Qudelix5k. Also successfully connected when I turned off and on again. BUT now the Sony won't connect whatsoever!!
Tried everything, tapped the pad, switched to RX and back to TX, disconnected the power/USB etc etc... NO luck

Please advise. I need this to work with both devices, like the NON-PRO did all the time.
