You already have the AM3D? if so, how does it sound?
yea i just purchase it yesterday, i have not yet listen it intensively but briefly. However, im using the fiio LC 2.5D Litz pure silver cable with my BGVP DM6 connected to Labkable 4.4mm to 2.5mm adapter and its an obvious change in SQ. AM3D > AM3A
detail retrieval is better, the treble is more natural ---> timbre of instruments on point
Mids a bit elevated and i would say smoother compared from AM3A
Bass i will say imo is more tighter and fast response
Soundstage/imaging is superb that i will say for now :)

Dear friend,

You could get the module only. And the Q5s will come with the AM3E.

Best regards

My AM3D will be here tomorrow and I have two balanced cable enabled headphones to test via the 4.4mm, Pioneer SE Monitor 5 and an HD700 (way better than you think it is, I love it) and for the 3.5mm input I will be testing with the Klipsch HP-3. Should be fun. I am expecting a great combination with the Q5.

My AM3D was delivered today: order placed on 27/05, really fast (and free!) shipping to Italy.
After a few hours of listening coupled with the Q5, I would say that AM3D is a great amp: sound signature is really similar to my Dx220+AMP8: a bit on the warm side with a great dynamic range and a really wide sound stage (maybe a little wider than DX220).
Only drawback is a slight hiss noise when coupled with my Solaris: lighter than original Q5 amp module (AM3A), but definitely louder than DX220+AMP8.
No hiss at all with Sony IER-Z1R, ProPhile 8 and Xelento.
So, after a few hours, a word of thanks to FiiO for this new amplifier!

I just placed my order and I'm very excited to do most of my testing with my Final Audio Pandora Hope VI. If I can get even close to the SQ my Cayin iHA-6 produced I'll be
Impressed. At 8 ohms with balanced drivers good amps are a must and they reveal a lot. They also live the bass boost in the Q5. And my Cascades getting better scares me so I'm not even thinking about that other than switching my cable from 2.5 to 4.4.

You can order the FiiO BL-44 cable, rather short which is good. It takes the 2.5mm balanced end into a female jack and the cable terminates with a male 4.4mm end for the AM3D input. I used to be such a purist that I would avoid all adapters like the plague, but now I don't worry, plus this is short and well made so should have zero audible impact on things.

Received and attached my AM3D today but sadly only had 15 minutes to listen before I had to go out. What I heard via the 4.4mm with the BL-44 cable was very nice. In terms of a power increase I am not sure (I should have compared the specifications more carefully) over the stock AM3A via the 2.5mm balanced I don't think there is any extra power worth mentioning. Regardless, I just wanted to hear this new module so even if I never notice any sound quality improvement it was something that I wanted to hear for myself. It seemed no fun to have the Q5 and never try a new amplifier module. The other issue is that it will be hard to directly compare as swapping modules is not super quick and in my view audio memory is very short-lived so going one from the other doesn't afford much of a comparison.

Give it sometime, you would definitely find the differences. I could not find any difference between stock AM3A (X7II) and AM5 initially but after I spent a couple of days with each module I found there are small differences but not night and day.
