Ha!, well that is telling
My M15 does get hot if I run "Over-ear Headphone" mode + Gain=H + "All-to-DSD", and load up a high impedance headphone (250/600) or Planar, but not so hot I'd be concerned. I wonder how much hotter the M17 can get with various modes in combination?
The M15 has a Glass back like the M17, but the M15 FiiO (DD?) leather case has 2 large thick Metal inserts that help air-heat exchange and to cool off the M15, I haven't noticed if the M17 leather case has those Metal Inserts...
What is the "Heat Sink"? I haven't seen a "Heat Sink" at all, the Fan Stand is too lightly made to be a "Heat Sink".
Also, the M17 is not a "Desktop Computer", unless FiiO are considering using Samsung's Dex "Desktop", but IDK if that will even work on a non-Samsung Android device. Is there an Android Desktop mode in Android 10? The M17 uses a
Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform CPU, not a "Desktop Computer" CPU.
"Two optional Wind Speeds", what I heard was very very loud in the video recording I saw with the Fan in the 2 speeds at high speed. There are quieter fan designs - the blade cut/angle balance for moving air vs noise needs careful design considerations - perhaps FiiO can work on that some more to reduce the noise? I understand the higher the RPM the more air moved, but there needs to be a dBa Limit on the noise - I think 40dBa is normal for non-intrusive noise. Adding a mid-speed or reducing the "high speed" RPM to 40dBa would help.
If the Fan Bracket was designed for the M17 then the Fan area should also flow across the M17's 2 side air vents, not only blow over the top of the M17. Also if the Fan Stand was designed for the M17 the M17 should sit lower on the stand - there is too much "lift/height" for the M17+Fan weight. The Fan Stand ledge where the M17 rests should be half again lower down toward the table. The M17 sitting on the Fan stand with the M17 high to reach the heavy fan box looks way too top heavy, too high off the table.
I would have expected the fan to be placed lower in the middle of the stand, with the Fan's weight lower slung on the Fan Stand, with the M17 sitting lower on the Fan Stand as well.
Maybe when I see my M17 siting on the Fan Stand in person, FiiO's design will all make more sense to me.
