Ferrum WANDLA - Impressions Thread

Holy crap, I have an Adi-2 Pro and a Wandla as well and this never occurred to me to try. Even a Mojo 2… I might really just copy your setup there 😄
Of course! I really like the results and convenience :) The audio is clean coming from the ADI and its usb connection with the computer has been reliable.

My setup is so compartmentalized… usb from the computer to the RME, next to that a raspberry pi and the Ferrum stack, and the Mojo connected to whatever device is closest. This will seriously bring things together

Holo Red is back in stock at Kitsune too  using the RME PRO as a DAW is savvy :L3000:

My problem is with the RME ADI-2 DAC just can't handle exclusive mode with TIDAL 96/24 and above via ASIO bridge (drop outs GALORE because madiFACE won't let you increase buffer beyond RME's marriage of buffer to playback rate for ideal latency) So I gotta upgrade to the Wandla and enjoy not having to lifetime sub Roon/HQP Desktop with all its built in features

The newer units with HW 4.0 seem to ship with it. Do you have the option to switch between Pro and Red Book under Audio -> DAC Out Standard? I think they added the ability to switch between those via HW in 4.0, so the Max Output voltage gets capped at either 4.0V or 9.75V without analog/digital attenuation.

Yes I can confirm that on my v1.3 fw unit.
Btw new v1.2.2 available on the updater

Hmm I am a little confused now. My unit shipped with 1.3.0, which is newer then 1.2.2, which got release today?

Do you also have issues with your Wandla freezing from time to time?

Me too as it says board 4.0 needed too and I’m worried about future update possibilities.

It says that 4.0 needs this update. Not that you need 4.0 for this update

mine, yes! (hw 4.0/fw 1.3) glad I'm not using the OOR in Bypass mode!

Oh holy crap, Wandla freezing does not mean it stops playing, it means full throttle?
It either stops playing or only gives a static noise on the left channel at full blast.

50/50.

After changing the USB Port to a 2.0 port, changing back sampling rate in Windows to 44.1 and disabling all auto features my Wandla seems to be stable for now. Will report back if anything like that reoccurs.

But damn, this DAC sounds good!
