Feliks-Audio EUFORIA - A Wolf in "Sheep's" Clothing...

As long as you do not use KT88 with 5998 to exceed 7A on heaters which I know is a limit on Euforia you are fine.
2 x 1.6A + 2 x 2.5A = 8.2A. You can, however, try 4 x KT88 (one pair drivers and one pair powers) and be in range 4 x 1.6A = 6.4A < 7A.
I do not own anymore a F.A. amplifier but I know these were limits in the past (6.5A for Elise and 7A for Euforia). If newer models do not have them please correct me.
I was using external power OctavianH, sorry should have mentioned.

OMG thanks! I'm getting an Elise repaired now and that must be why-I must have exceeded the limit!

The usual: @Deyan here or MrsX on eBay. Make sure to specify that they are for Euforia, and not Envy. Euforia can actually use a single triode per side, so you don’t have to use dual KTxx, 6J5, etc in each tube spot.

I probably have a few (2-4) 6as7/6sn7 to KTxx adapters available, and a few matched KTxx/xxx pairs that I would sell, from my Euforia times.

The nice thing about Euforia is that you can use matched pairs instead of quads of single triodes, and triode strapped pentodes and tetrodes.

You will have to be careful that you don’t exceed the rated heater current for driver and power tubes on the amp. You can easily cheat this, by using powered 6SN7 socket savers, which you should get from @Deyan.
When using KTxx as drivers, do you use the same type of adapters that are used for the power tubes?

I no longer own a Euforia but when I did ... yes, same adapters.

looking for some driver tubes for my Euforia Evo.....any suggestions? Currently running a set of NOS Genelex kt66 but would like to venture out a little more. I also have a set of KR Vt231 that i sometimes swap out to. I am running Sophia Electric KT88 as powers.

Thank you

I love my 6F8G Sylvania Tubes!
With 5998 Tung-Sol it’s my „endgame“, all my other tubes will end at the classifieds :D

Well, since you are clearly not afraid of adapters, may I suggest opening Pandora’s box?

Require no external power:
Quad CV6/VT135
Quad C3g
Quad 6j5
Quad 152/5a
Dual 12au7

Require external power:
Quad ГУ50
Quad C3m
Quad 12j5

No adapter:
Melz 1578

Note: quads on Euforia/Elise are not strictly necessary, as the amp supports single triode per side, but you will need quads if you ever plan to take the tubes to an “upgrade” amp like Envy or HA-300v2.

Thanks a lot brother. Is there any hum with running these tube/adapter combo?
No, dead silent!

I have noticed that any tube that requires an adpater in my driver slot creates a slight hum in my EVO. With KR vt231 or any 6sn7 based tubes, its dead silent, but with KT66 or KT88 tubes in the driver slot, they all create hum.
Unfortunately I haven't used any other tubes that need an adapter - I'm thinking about ordering an adapter for KT88 and 6v6G tubes.

Yes. Again, I prefer them as powers than as drivers, but they work as both.

Thanks guys!! This thing is quite the tube roller I see. I'm listening to Soviet 6H8C with Gold Lion (Russian) KT66 tonight and it is a surprising combination to say the least. I ordered another set of adapters and I am thinking of setting up an external heater supply to open up some other options.

I got adapters for some Mullard KT88 tubes and used them as drivers. Previously I had Chatham 5998's as drivers. The difference was startling. Noticeably holographic, the KT88's took the Evo to another level-for 3 days. Then I got distortion-like a LOT. So I panicked and put the 5998's back in. Now things are back to normal with no noise whatsoever. Certainly on par with my Holo Audio Bliss and maybe even slightly ahead. But I'm still remembering that KT88 sound which was absolutely spectacular.
