Feliks Audio ENVY

I found that the Envy and P paired very nicely together.
I noticed I was using it less, over time, and the Sus and LCD-5 got most of the listening sessions so it went to a new home.

My only issues with the P was it was never very comfortable for me and heavier than the Sus or 5.

Sure hope your Envy is arriving soon @ThanatosVI

Well went to use the envy this morning and I think a tube(s) failed. Don’t have back ups on hand yet (Elrogs are coming today). Basically turn it on and with the utopia I can hear music but it’s super quiet. Even if I crank the volume all the way up it doesn’t get much louder.
Anyone have any idea on what it could be?

Input select? Due to the audio bleeding it could be that the music is really quite

Remember to turn your Headphones volume down when checking and selecting inputs and cables! 🎧 💥

It’s on the right input. I’m pretty sure it’s a power tube. I can hear it change volume slightly.

Wear your Headphones around your neck (with Pads on your ears) so you can quickly drop them to prevent ear volume damage and have your hand always on the volume knob to move volume instantly. These Tubes sometimes have a knack of suddenly coming into life for a short moment before expiring again.

Is the volume within your Sreaming audio product set at the correct volume level?
Headphone connectors both fully seated at both ends?
DAC volume correct?

This seems strange. If a tube went down, I would have expected the other channel to operate normally?
It’s on the right/correct input. Both channels work. The volume is low and won’t get much louder. If the amp was jacked it probably wouldn’t work at all. It’s most likely a power tube. We’ll see today when the elrogs come.

Yeah the dac and Roon is all normal. I used the DNA right after I tried the envy. Streamer, dac and headphones all good.

I use ecc32’s regularly in Envy, the online menu states you can. Not sure if this is normal, but using HD800S I need to switch to impedance mid, and then it’s sublime. I’m not an electronics guy, so it must be to do with the synergy coming together with ecc32’s.
Anyone know for certain if ECC33s will also work?
I have a Mullard in my Glenn OTL for the 6SN7 socket, and it's my favorite tube I've tried on it, but with very low volume so I'd like to get another and use both in the Envy. I'd rather do that than shell out for 2 ECC32s which tend to be much expensive than the already pricey ECC33s.

I have enquired to a higher authority than I, who says you could. But I would highly recommend asking Felix Audio before committing.

Premature impressions of Envy with burning-in Elrog ER300Bs:

The Envy with stock or mid level power tubes and upgraded drivers is probably competent enough without too much FOMO with the best dynamic headphones - I'm a believer in the OG Utopia

Burning in Elrog ER300B (tried to change order to MO but too late) -- hoping these open up impressively.

So far, the Susvara are benefitting more from the Elrogs. I may get the WE300B as I suspect it may be what I’m more looking for in a power tube for the Utopia.

Susvara appears driven well enough in medium gain with great bass, which is a good sign of how well Envy with Elrogs is handling the Susvara.

Edit: With further burn-in - the Utopia continue to be my favorite! The Elrogs are great, wish I'd gotten the MOs, but in a way it's nice to have an upgrade available and enjoying where I'm at.

Had to go earlier and didn’t have time to troubleshoot too much. So I’m home again and with the elrogs. I checked/moved the input to all three positions and have it on 3, for xlr. Elrogs work no problem. I’ll take these out and see if the FM tubes work again. I see what you mean about the inputs. You can hear the music in other/wrong inputs. What’s odd is I leave it on 3 (xlr). Maybe it wasn’t all the way on 3 or bumped? No one touched this so it’s odd. Anyways, amp is good. That’s a relief!
Thanks to all who helped troubleshoot.
