I hadn't considered video game soundtracks when i wrote this, with that in mind I'd have to say that my favourite soundtrack is in fact the Silent Hill 3 OST closely followed by 4.

I tell people that it's Red Dawn but it's actually You've Got Mail.

But seriously, I'd have to say my favorite is Peter Gabriel's Passion: Music from the Last Temptation of Christ.

I also used to spend quite a bit of time listening to The Mission and Powaqqatsi.

In college, it was Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.

In high school, The Wall.

In middle school, Animal House and The Big Chill.

In elementary school, Grease, Footloose, and Purple Rain.

if you are looking for something unique then i would recommend the sountrack from the movie "kundun". composed by philip glass. I really love that album. I would also recommend to watch the movie as the cinematography is just sublime..
