I am lookibg for a set of cans that excel with female vocals: Rin', Perfume, Florence and the Machine, Stevie Nicks, Sixpence None the Richer, Natalie Merchant, and Sophie Milman. I'll be using an iPhone. Thanks for you recommendations.

On-ear, over-ear, or in-ear?

Alessandro MS2i, Audio Technica ES700, Any Beyer 880s

EDIT: For in-ears, you certainly can't go wrong with Etys, any of the Hifiman IEMs especially the 262 or 272, and the TDK BA200 does very well also.

Thank you for your recommendations. Ironically enough, I had a pair of BeyerDynamic DTX 71 iE on order from Amazon when I started this thread. The Beyers do a wonderful job of being excellent with female vocals. The 71s don't seem to have the best build quality, so if I need another set of headphones for female vocals I will look further into your recommendations.
