Maestros take some power because of all the damping, I'd keep an eye out for a 2 pin, 4.4 mm aftermarket cable as well to get that extra balanced juice!
Ye i bought that one https://eliseaudio.com/collections/.../cema-ms-upgrade-cable?variant=42248872067290 silver 4.4mm
i dont even checked the stock cable, changed asap after opening :D

Can't wait to check fiio k7!

What tips do you recomend for maestro mini?
BTW i have problem that my right ear/canal is little smaller or difrrient than left, small tips dont make seal and large one are 2 large. Medium are fine but right one is little too tight the seal is too strong and i got feeling that i hear the right one more quiet than left.

Guys i got fiio q3 and i wanna get something better for maestro mini

Zen ifi dac v2 or new fiio k7? i listen only desktop so no portable needed.

I haven't heard the FiiO product, so can't say how it sounds like in comparison to our ZEN DAC V2. But if this is of any use, our ZEN line leans more towards warmth and roundness than details, so if you're after such traits, you might want to give it a go at some point. Hope this helps, thanks!

I don't think that's a good idea. We already have a huge bass shelf with the Mini.

EX800ST needed the tape mod to get the bass up there.

DHL says my Mini will arrive Next Tuesday. :L3000:
Mini arrived a day early...Gonna let it burn. On first listen, using the stock tips, not bad at all. Mids and treble are not bad at all either. Mini requires way more power like Bret said to show you its full potential. I'm on High gain on DX240 AMP8 MKII which is 281mW 3.1Vrms Max at 32ohm and it needs a little more juice than this.

Will have to go balanced 6.2Vrms, 980mW with one of my 2 Pin cables.

What's the diameter of the nozzles?
Not sure but stock tips don't sound that good. Also tried Spinfit "100 Plus" and that compresses the sound.

MoonDrop Spring Tips sound best with better separation of the frequencies while retaining the Bass. it does rumble in your ear like a car subwoofer, but the bass hadn't tightened yet like on my OG monarch. Burn in continues.

Stock cable is also not the best. replaced it with a copper/silver plated cable which further refines and widens the soundstage.

They have a grill now as well, so no worries of wax getting in there

I have those already. Will try them out.
After 30hrs burn-in. I tested bass again but I guess I was playing the wrong songs until I landed on one of my new albums and played this song;

H.E.R. - Find A Way ft. Lil Baby ... WOW!!! That is some crazy deep bass.

The best tips for me so far are AZLA Sedna Xelastec. The BASS is brutal now on these while keeping everything else crystal clear.

Accidentally discovered Mini is also good with live stuff like Eric Clapton's 1992 Unplugged album. you can literally hear every instrument that was used.
Guitars, cymbals, and backup singers jump out at you in a good way. Wow didn't expect that.

Whoever said this is like a mini Oriolus Traillii with crazy bass wasn't lying.

Mini also has this 4D presentation that put me in the room on that Eric Clapton live unplugged album. You can hear everything clearly including the spacing of instruments on the stage and how far the audience is from the stage.

I'm using a silver cable + AZLA Sedna Xelastec and love this pairing.

No regrets on this purchase.
